Nashua Nighthawks results

BASKETBALL

Boys – fourth grade

The Nashua Nighthawks’ fourth grade team won both of their games, beating undefeated Billerica 46-25 on Saturday and Chelmsford 44-21 on Sunday. Contributing to the win over Billerica were Curtis Harris with 15 points and eight rebounds, John Sullivan with 14 points and 11 rebounds, Michael Robbins with eight points and seven rebounds, and Nathan Kane with five points and seven rebounds. Against Chelmsford, Nashua dominated the boards with over 40 rebounds, Sullivan having nine, Joshua Taylor grabbed seven, Kane and Stephen Norris each had six boards, Robbins and Harris each had five, Daniel Dockrill had three, Matt Keisling collected two, and Joshua Kane had one rebound. On offense, strong performances came from Robbins with 13 points, Sullivan with 11, Harris with five, Nathan Kane and Keisling each had four points, Norris had three, and Taylor and River Hart each scored two points.

Girls – fifth grade

The Nashua Lady Nighthawks defeated Tyngsboro 25-18. Nashua took a lead into halftime; however, Tyngsboro scored the first two baskets of the second half to tie the game. The Lady Nighthawks never gave up and played relentless defense and were patient on offense. Hannah Muchemore, Aryanna Murray, Abby Coy, Alayja Linton, Kendra Santoro, and Julianna Martin all scored, while Alexa Wilkins, Bianca Gershgorin, and Jordan Choate made several great passes and played tremendous defense.

Boys – seventh grade

The seventh grade Nighthawks defeated Reading 55-46. Yanis Nyantenji had a huge game with 17 points and seven rebounds. Also playing well was Alonzo Linton with 11 points and three steals. On defense Xahn Frater and Sky Boykin kept the Hawks on top. Nashua had 23 rebounds and 15 steals.

Nashua defeated Methuen 58-46. The Hawks received a strong game from Frater, who scored 18 points and collected 6 steals. The Nashua squad had 17 steals and 27 rebounds. Controlling the boards was Nyantenji and Clayton Medling.

The Nighthawks beat Wakefield 46-20. Controlling the boards for Nashua was Josh Reader and Razz Alkalay; both had seven rebounds. Strong defense was played by John Paul Champa, Razz Alkalay, and Alex Amigo, each had three steals. Medling had three rebounds, two steals and four points.

In the team’s best game of the year, Nashua defeated North Andover 60-57. North Andover was up 25-18 at the half, but Nashua came back strong with amazing defense. The offense was led by Nyantenji (17 points), Champa (14 points), and Frater (10 points). The Nashua defense received a great game from Sky Boykin.
