The Northeast Junior High Football League has accepted the Timberlane Tornadoes, based out of Plaistow, along with the Sanborn Junior Indians, based out of Kingston, as new members. Timberlane president Jerry Lovett and Sanborn president Glen Smith both agree that the move to the Northeast Junior High Football League is not only in the best interest of both programs, but to the overall growth of youth football in the area.

The Northeast Junior High Football League is made up of teams from southern New Hampshire (Bedford, Derry, Londonderry, Manchester, Merrimack, Souhegan, Sanborn and Timberlane) and northeastern Massachusetts (Andover, Billerica, Lowell, and Tewksbury) who all share in the philosophy of providing an opportunity for teams to play football at the level best suited for them.

Currently, the league has two divisions for seventh- and eighth-grade teams. This year it plans to add a Junior level for grades 5 and 6 as well as a Youth level for grades 3 and 4. The league is open for new membership. For more information, visit www.northeastjhfl.com.
