Starting the year off in a grand way, four Flash runners went to Boston on Feb. 2 to represent the club at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix meet. Held every year at the Reggie Lewis Arena, this meet is know as a kickoff for the professional indoor season and each year attracts some of the sport’s top athletes.

At the invitation of USATF New England, the Flash fielded a team to go up against top New England youth track clubs in a 4×200 mixed (boys and girls) relay. In a time of 1:56.66 they came in a close third place, less than four seconds off the first place Cambridge Jets in 1:52.94.

This was the first time the Flash has fielded a mixed team in this event featuring Jessica Ewing (Amherst), Keelan MacKenzie (Mont Vernon), Mollie Simpson (Manchester) and Declan Hotter (Londonderry).

Full results from the meet are available at www.nbindoorgrandprix.com/events-results/, with video at www.youtube.com/watch?v=moWV-m2eU-4.
