Nashua PAL 6,

Peyton Layman scored on Nashua PAL’s first drive of the game, and the Force rolled from there – walking away with its first win in indoor league history. This is the first season Nashua PAL has put a team in the league.

Layman’s touchdown was set up courtesy of big plays down the field by Harley Ciardi, Aiden Bashor, Griffin Dane, Justin Arneson, Nick Scalera, Owen Pedi, Tyler Mahoney and J.J. Fiore. John Stark held strong to deny the extra point.

Nashua’s defense, led by Garrett Hillard, Dan Giordano, Cole Desmond, Brandon Martin, Matt Hallahan, Griffin McTaggert, Justin Cardulo, Tanner Plourde, Brendon Frost, Max Ackerman, Dominick Gentry and David Kaliton held strong, causing John Stark to forfeit in the first half.

SNH Cavaliers 4, Masco 3

What was a defensive, scoreless game through two periods, turned into a third-period shootout.

Masco started the third with three quick goals, but the Cavaliers’ Jesse Gertz, Kelci Waters, Chase

Devins and Jake Dodge dug deep and mounted a comeback. Will Dodge netted his first of three goals to get the Cavs on the boards, assisted by Stephen Toom and Jack MacEachen. Will Dodge

then added his second unassisted, cutting the lead 3-2. The defensive play of Evan Doughty, Mike

Spinazzola, Patrick Sehulster and goalie Matthew D’Ortona kept the game tight – allowing Will Dodge to tie things up with his third goal. His hat trick goal was assisted by Sal D’Amico. Will Dodge wasn’t done yet, after tying things up, he came up big again, feeding Karenna Beckstein with less than a minute left in the third period and she deposited the game-winning goal into the Masco net.

In their opening game, St. Chris girls had a decisive victory against a determined St. Catherine’s squad. Led offensively
by Lizzie Croke (12), Kristen McIntire (8) and Kristen Coumas (6), the Huskie girls enjoyed the benefits of Nicole Yeaton’s stellar defense to secure the win.

In their second game of the evening, St. Chris hit the boards hard with offensive efforts by Peyton Ryan (8), Lizzie Croke (8), Rita Dow (4), O’Neill Galinson (4) and Jennifer Marino (2) to come away with the win and advancing the girls to the championship game.

St. Chris 32, St. Patrick’s Parish 24

In a rematch of Game 2, St. Patrick’s kept the score close to the end. With only a few minutes left in the game, St. Chris was able to hold on to the lead by sinking clutch baskets to hold on to the championship victory. Top scorers for St. Chris were Lizzie Croke (12), Krysta Mack (8), and Peyton Ryan (6).

Infant Jesus 17

After trailing at the half, Infant Jesus came out strong in the second half to pull ahead clenching the victory against the St. Chris Green team last weekend. St. Chris girls played tough to the end with top scoring performances by Kristen Coumas (6) and Sophia Lathram (5).

MSM-St. Anthony 10

The St. Chris girls White team improved its record to 4-0 in CYO play with a victory over MSM – St. Anthony over the weekend. Lizzie Croke (10), Krysta Mack (8) and Rita Dow (4) led a strong St. Chris offensive effort. Danielle Pacucci and Janessa Palmieri played great defense and were tough on the boards, securing several offensive rebounds for St. Chris.

The St. Chris girls Green team played with no substitutes and held a talented St. Patrick team to a 10 point lead until the 4th quarter. St. Chris moved the ball well and did a great job on the boards. Sophia Lathram had 8 points for St. Chris, and Nicole Yeaton and Brianna DeFelice delivered terrific defensive performances.

Playing in their first interleague game at St. George in Manchester, St. Chris leading scorers Alex Nicholas (5), Jackson Lewis (4), and Joey Stone (3) led the way against a talented St. Benedict squad. St. Chris asserted its offense with increased quality shots and the most trips yet to the free throw line. The St. Chris big men showed impressive improvement in rebounding and put-back shots.

St. Chris Green wins two

The St. Chris Green boys Mite team extended their record to 5-1 with victories over a gritty St. George (27-23) team from Manchester and local rival, PMA (37-5). Chase Nickerson and Andre Laplante had outstanding all around weekends.

St. Chris Green Jr. Mites remain undefeated following their weekend victory over St. Joseph’s. Leading the offense for St. Chris were Trevor & Spencer LaBreque, David & Keith Dow, and Quinn Mansperger. Aidan DeNeill & Nolan Ryan played strong defense for St. Chris.

With 17 points, including three from beyond the arc, Tommy Ethier paved the way for St. Chris to secure its fourth win in a row. Ronnie Silva distributed the ball on offense, and spearheaded the St. Chris defensive effort that limited the young, but spirited, St. Patrick squad.

6TH GRADE

Dracut 42, Nashua 32

The 6th Grade Nighthawks battled Dracut for the second straight weekend; however, the ’Hawks once again fell, losing 42-32. Nashua was led offensively by Stephen McLendon (10 points, 1 board, 1 assist) and Andrew Penkala (10 point, 8 boards, 2 assists, 1 block, 1 steal). The entire team battled hard all game and received points from Chase Hart (5 points, 2 assists), Matt Wall (5 points, 1 board), and two points each from Gabe Perrault, Jake Robbins (2 boards, 2 blocks, 1 assist), Casey McNally (4 boards, 2 steals, 1 assist) and Jeff Reza. Chris Inzerillo also chipped in with one point and three rebounds, while Tyler Downing played very well at the point and defensively.

Nashua 46, Tewksbury 35

The 6th Grade Nighthawks won their first regular season game by defeating Tewksbury 46-35. Nashua was led offensively by Andrew Penkala who scored 15 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and collected three assists. The ’Hawks also received a strong offensive output from Jake Robbins (12 points, 8 boards, 3 blocks, 1 steal). Also scoring for Nashua were Casey McNally (4 points, 2 steals, 1 board, 1 assist), Matt Wall (4 points, 3 boards, 2 assists) Jeff Reza (4 points, 2 boards, 1 assist), Stephen McLendon (3 points, 2 assists) and two points each from Tyler Downing (2 assists, 1 board) and Chase Hart (3 boards). Also playing well for Nashua were Chris Inzerillo who played great interior defense (2 boards, 1 assist) and Gabe Perrault, who played well at the point.

The Stars’ Brendan Barrett led all scorers with 13 points, followed by Peter McManus and Danny Soler with nine each. Noah Cardin and Arnaldo Izquierdo contributed six and four, respectively. For the Kings.

Suns 59, Blazers 53

The Suns were led offensively by Val Pagan (18 points), Michael Jensen (11) and Ben Walker (10), while Joshua Roy and Anshul Kamdar led the defense. The Blazers offense was led by Jose Flores (14), Tyler Watkins (10), Michael Lentz (8) and Tyler O.Brien (8), while Brian Inzerillo stood out on the other end.

Satellites 36, Jets 30

Matt Wall scored 10 points in the 4th quarter and would lead all scorers in the game with 16. However, the ’Lites held off the surge to hang on 36-30. Jordan Donnely and Spencer Derosher had 12 each for the ’Lites, while Jayden Jones had 6 for the winners.

Jazz 41, Braves 21

Mason Moore and Evan Baldassaro scored 7 points each to lead the Jazz. Jordan Bodwell was the high scorer for the Braves with 6 points. Trevor Froburg had a good game for the Jazz scoring 6 points.

Sonics 51, Sharks 18

The Sonics were led by Andre Santos, who scored 8 points, while Colin Manning and Tim McMeniman each added 6.

The Pistons were led by Ryan Bourgeois with 10 points, while Nick Gosselin and Liam Novak scored 6 each. The Hornets were led by Nick Tzannos and Druv Patel with 4 points each.

at Winter Carnival

The Nashua School of Gymnastics Levels 4-10 athletes competed in the Winter Carnival Sectional meet Jan. 12 and 13 at the Cooperative Middle School in Stratham. Gymnasts needed an All-Around score of 33.00 to qualify for State Meet.

Level 4 Age 8

Lindsey Campbell had an all-around of 36.40 (2nd place); she scored a 9.40 (1st) on vault, 9.025 (4th) on bars, 8.875 (2nd) on beam and 9.10 (2nd) on floor.

Megan White had an all-around of 32.750; she scored an 8.95 on vault, 7.05 on bars, 8.275 (4th ) on beam and 8.50 (8th) on floor.

Litchfield now part of Manchester South

Manchester South Little League is excited to announce its expansion of league boundaries into
Litchfield.

The fee is $75 for one child with a total for two or more children frozen at $120. If you have more than two children to register, the total family payment still remains at $120. A late fee will be accessed on registrations received after Feb. 9 of $25.

Two forms of proof of residency, as well as, a copy of the birth certificate will be required of any new player. South Little League is for boys and girls from Litchfield and Manchester ages 4-12. Boys or girls must turn four before April 30 to be eligible to play this season.

A players birthday must fall between the following range: May 1, 2000-April 30, 2009. Little League has boundaries that are very strict and must be followed. NSC NH Cobras
hosting seminar

The NH Cobras of the Nashua Soccer Club, in conjunction with the New England Revolution and U.S. Soccer, is sponsoring a coaching seminar on Feb. 4 at the Holiday Inn in Nashua. The seminar, featuring U.S. Youth National team head coach Tony Lepore, and New England Revolution director of youth development Bryan Scales, will focus on the long-term athletic development of local youth soccer players. Both Lepore and Scales bring with them a wealth of experience on the construction of an age-appropriate environment for the development of young soccer players. This seminar is open to coaches and other interested parents and registration is made by sending an RSVP to execboard@nhcobrassc.com.
