Six Greater Nashua champs ready for NH South Districts
Six Nashua youths, 12-year-old Tilak Patel, 12-year-old Rachel Holden, 11-year-old Rita Dow, 10-year-old Josh Demoura, 9-year-old Sebastion Coelho and 9-year-old Emma Charron will be seeking to win the 2013 New Hampshire Elks South District Hoop Shoot Contest on Saturday, Jan. 5, at the Elm Street Middle School Gymnasium. The contest starts at 9 a.m. The Nashua Lodge of Elks will be hosting the South District Hoop Shoot and the public is invited to attend the Elks Hoop Shoot free throw contest.
The 2013 South District Champions will advance to the NH Elks State Championship Hoop Shoot in Portsmouth the weekend of Feb. 2. Elks, parents, friends and all the Hoop Shootcontestants from the competing Elk Lodges of Nashua, Manchester, Concord, Keene, Portsmouth, Dover, Rochester and Derry/Salem will be guests at an Awards Luncheon at the Nashua Lodge of Elks immediately after the South District contest.
State winners will be advancing to the New England Regional Hoop Shoot in South Portland, Maine, in March. The Elks National Hoop Shoot Finals will take place in Springfield, Mass., in April.
