8 Gr. Nashua youths heading to Elks NH Soccer Shoot
Eight Greater Nashua Elks Soccer Shoot Champions – 12-year-old Jacob Pike, 10-year-old Gabe Buxton, 9-year-old Eliot Mason, 5-year-old Noah Kapopoulos, 12-year-old Hannah Dobson, 11-year-old Katie Paquette, 9-year-old Sophia Fechke and 7-year-old Alexandria Kapopoulos – will travel to Franklin for Saturday’s 2012 New Hampshire State Elks Soccer Shoot Championship.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. with the shootout starting at 10.
The U8 and the U10 champions will compete in the Five Goal Soccer Shoot with each participant kicking 15 shots for a score. U8’s will kick from a distance of 15 feet and the U10’s from 18 feet with the five goals ranging from 48 inches wide down to 17 inches wide.
The U12 and the U14 champions will kick from 36 feet at a Grid Goal with assorted size openings that will be attached to the front of a regulation 24-foot soccer goal. Contestants will have 15 kicks for score.
The eight Greater Nashua Elks Soccer Champions will be competing against their respective area champions from throughout the Granite State with the U8, U10, U12 and U14 winners advancing to the Area One Regional Soccer Shoot competition in Connecticut on Nov. 3.
The Greater Nashua Soccer Champions, their families and friends attending the State Elks Soccer Shoot Championship in Franklin are also invited to participate in the Awards luncheon following the competition.
