Nashua Central Cal Ripken
registration set to start

Registration for the Nashua Central Cal Ripken fall baseball season opens soon. Visit www.nashuacentral.org for information, including online sign up and a schedule of in-person registration opportunities.

NH Diamond Devils, Knights take the field in Sept.

The NH Diamond Devils and NH Knights Baseball Clubs are holding tryouts Sept. 9 for AAU Baseball in the spring and summer of 2013. The Diamond Devils have openings for the 10U team and 11U team, while the Knights have openings for 13U team and Senior Knights ages 15-17. The age determination date is May 1, 2013. Tryouts will be held at the Nashua Baseball Academy at 265 Proctor Hill Rd. in Hollis at 9 a.m. for the Diamond Devils and 10:30 for the Knights. The tryouts are held rain or shine indoors at the training facility or on Academy Field if the weather is good so bring sneakers in case of rain. There is no tryout fee, the roster sizes are small and the teams offer off-season training, full uniform and a tradition of excellence in AAU competition. SNH Reds/Gamers tryouts

The SNH Reds/Gamers AAU Organization has announced the following tryout schedule for ages 10U thru 18U (and fall baseball) at the following locations and times: Aug. 19 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Ledge Street Field in Nashua and 2-5 p.m. at Griffin Middle School in Litchfield; Aug. 25 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Atherton Street Field in Nashua and 2-5 p.m. at Griffin Middle School in Litchfield; and Aug. 26 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Ledge Street Field in Nashua and 2-5 p.m. Griffin Middle School in Litchfield.

NH Grizzlies tryouts set

The NH Grizzlies 2013 teams have scheduled tryouts for Aug. 19 on the campus of Southern New Hampshire University (2,500 N. River Rd., Manchester) at the following times: 13s at 9 a.m.; 14s at noon; 15s and 16s at 2:30 p.m. There is a $35 tryout fee. E-mail nhgrizzlies@comcast.net with any questions.

NH Black Widows hit the field

The NH Black Widows ASA softball organization’s tryouts will be held at Keyes Field (located on Elm Street) in Milford on Sunday, Aug. 19. The Black Widows will field teams at the 10U, 12U and 16U levels for 2013. If you are interested in coaching a 14U team in 2013, contact Chris Mazzeo at 801-7585 or chris..mazzeo@comcast.net.

Nashua Nighthawks at
Girls Inc. in October

The 2012/13 Nashua Nighthawks youth basketball program is holding tryouts on Oct. 13 at Girls Inc. (27 Burke St., Nashua). Tryouts for boys living in Nashua will be broken down by grades as follows: 3rd/4th grade from noon-1 p.m.; 5th grade 1-2:30; 6th grade 2:30-4; 7th grade 4:30-5:30; 8th grade: 5:30-7.

A tryout fee of $20 (to cover gym rental expense) will be charged. There is a maximum fee of $25 per family.

HB Girls-Boys Clinic scheduled

MYB elections set for Sept.

Merrimack Youth Baseball will hold open elections for the upcoming board of directors.

The election will be held on Sept. 6 at 8 p.m. at the MYA Building. The following positions are up for election: One vice president, treasurer, secretary and four league player representatives. These are two-year terms.
