Elks Soccer Shoot Aug. 18
The Nashua Lodge of Elks #720, with the cooperation of the NH Cobras of the Nashua Soccer Club, will be holding its 13th annual Greater Nashua Soccer Shoot contest on Saturday, Aug. 18, from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Main Dunstable Soccer Fields (Rte. 111-A) in Nashua, (near Main Dunstable School).
Prizes will be awarded to the top three in each of the eight groups (four boys and four girls).
First place winners will compete in the Elks State Championship in Franklin on Oct. 13.
The Elks Greater Nashua Soccer Shoot is a two-stage contest that best represents the skill levels of four age groups: U8, U10, U12 and U14. The participant’s age on Aug. 1, 2012 is used to determine the contestant’s age division.
The Five-Goal Contest is a succession of separate smaller ground level goal targets for the U8 and U10 participants (15 kicks).
The Grid Goal Contest uses the penalty kick distance (36 feet) to challenge the older U12 and U14 participants (15 kicks).
The Elks Shootout is open to all interested boys and girls from area towns, including Hudson, Litchfield, Amherst, Brookline, Hollis, Merrimack, Milford, Wilton and Nashua.
All participants must register prior to their participation. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m.
There is no charge for participating in the Elks Greater Nashua Soccer Shoot. In the event of a rain cancellation, the program will be rescheduled for Sunday, Aug. 19 at the same location and times.
