PAL Gate City Striders score big in USATF event

Last weekend, over 100 Nashua PAL Gate City Strider runners competed in the New England Association Race at Freestyle Farm in Amherst. Seven teams earned the right to run at the Regional Race at Queensbury, N.Y., on Nov. 20. Additionally, 11 runners qualified to run as individuals at the Regional Race.

Sub-Bantams (U8)

Both the girls’ and boys’ PAL Striders teams placed first in the Sub Bantam Division. The girls were led by top 10 finishers Grace Jones, Amelia Piercy, Samantha Canto, Kathryn Conley, and Maddison Houle.

The boys were led by top 10 finishers Chris Keefe, Nicholas Dahl, Jared Long, Benjamin Martin, and Ryan MacDonald. Also running strong were Timothy Cole, Levi Santoro, and Nicolas Darringer.

Bantam (U10)

In the Bantam Division, the girls squad qualified for Regionals with a third place team finish and were led by fourth place runner Tylee Thurber. Also scoring for the PAL Strider team were Lauren Robinson, Kendra Santoro, Geena Gentile, Robyn Krafft, and Elise Michaud.

The boys team also advanced with a second place finish. Top 10 runners included Noah Strout, Alex Koutsos, and Landon Johnson.

David Pike, John Sullivan, and Zackary Berthiaume also put up points toward the team total.

Midgets (U12)

The boys Midget team, led by seventh place runner Justin Carbonneau, were runners up in the team scoring, and advanced to Regionals. Also scoring high were Aidan Sullivan, Connor Muise, Andrew Wakefield, Simon Morrier, and Ryan Vermette. For the girls squad Olivia Koutsos advanced to the Regionals with a top 25 finish.

Youth (U14)

The boys Youth Division team, led by top 10 finisher Tom Lessard, advanced to Regionals with a third place finish. Also running strong and scoring team points were Noah Bellomo, Jake McMaster, Andrew Dahl, Mitch King, and Christopher Fischer. For the girls squad, Danielle Poublon and Melissa Hiatt advanced with top 25 finishes.

Intermediate (U16)

The boys Intermediate team advanced to Regionals as runners up in the team competition. Brian McAfee and Philip Demers finished in the top 10. Tyler Doveno, Jonathan Sheehan, Jonathan Zalman, and Ryan Doyle also scored. For the Intermediate girls, Brianna Lippitt was the runner up, while Marie Morrier placed fourth, both qualifying for Regionals.

Young Men/Young Women (U18)

In the Under 18 Division, Cameron Vallie, Keith Guay, and Alexander Abraham all ran well and qualified for the Regional Race. Erica Notini won the girls champion, also qualifying.
