Almost 200 players enjoy Flag Football Jamboree

Nashua hosted the 3rd annual NHYFSC Flag Football Jamboree last Sunday at Nashua North. Over 175 players joined in the fun from 14 teams across the state. NPF was well represented with five teams, fielding over 50 players.

NPF YELLOW wins

third game of season

NPF Yellow ran its record to 3-2-1 with a breakout day with five new players reaching the end zone. QB Cam Prangley, RB Jeremiah Levesque and RB Michael Jigarjian scored early notching a tie against the Corbas from Manchester East. NorRock and Concord slowed NPF Yellow’s momentum despite defensive standout play from the tackling tandem of Aidan McLaughlin and Chris Prangley. NPF Yellow ended the day strong behind the running and scoring of Charley Mewkill and Xavier Francis, blocking by big Moe L’Hereureux and the bruising defensive play of Bobby Canaway.

NPF White had a breakout running game in the Flag Jamboree with 6 touchdowns from Zaedan Crocker and Derek Finlay with big wins over Monadnock and Goffstown. Finlay got on the board early returning an interception all the way. Zach Proulx had a long run behind the blocking of Cody Goode and Trent Jackson. Austin Spooner made the Eagles scream on his TD run behind Jayden Allen and Severen Johnson. Bedford proved to tough to handle in two match ups despite the defensive wonders of Ben Mullett and Nathan Ruiter.

NPF RED notches

first win of season

NPF Red came up strong in the Flag Jamboree winning their first game of the season against the Manchester East Cobras. Scoring for NPF Red were Jack Hamblett, Jake O’Connor and Jayce Cora behind the blocking of Derek Schlupf, Airyan Cora and John Barry. NPF Red came up short against Concord behind great defensive efforts by Reid Lavoie and Barry Sullivan. Luke Smiley and David Simpson turned in tons of tackles in a closely fought defeat against Bedford Yellow. QB Devyn Lavoie scored against Bedford Red but the Jaguars scored on the last play of the day snatching victory from the Force.

NPF GREEN ties

Bedford twice

NPF Green played Bedford Blue and Bedford Red to two ties 7 – 7 in the Flag Jamboree. The QB & RB combo of Nicolas Digesse and Cody Morton did the scoring for NPF Green while Jack Peters, John Forcier, Drew Sheehan and Caedan Sheahan opened up holes in the Bedford defense. The Concord Capitols proved too much for NPF Green stealing two closely fought battles despite outstanding defensive efforts from Toby Brown and Tyler Girouard and great offensive blocking by Dmitri Moreno.

NPF BLUE extends

win streak to five

NPF Blue exploded for 70 points in 4 games beating Concord, Bedford and Goffstown behind the hard-nosed running of QB Micheal Gigliotti, QB Ryan Forcier, QB Lorenzo Abreu and QB Dylan McDermott. CB Peter Wilson notched an interception and two TDs on the day while QB/RB Patrick Keegan ran and threw for a touchdown. Thomas Laurendi set his sights on the end zone twice while nothing got around the defensive edge play of DE Charlie Bellavance and CB Patrick Costa. DT Samuel Marshall blew up the NorRock offensive line but NorRock mustered a last play long run to hand NPF Blue its first defeat of the season.

3rd Grade: NPF loses to Hudson-Litchfield

NPF hosted the Hudson-Litchfield Bears at Stellos Stadium in Nashua on Sunday. NPF lost a competitive,spirited game. NPF’s Robby Long was a scoring machine with 4 TDs and threw an extra point conversion pass to Andrew Barry. Zach Howard showed off his running and pass catching skills all day. Teammates Max Ackerman and Logan Mathewson chipped in with a number of sparkling runs from scrimmage. Edwin Gonzalez matched a number of key blocks with fellow linemen Aiden Bashor clearing the way for NPF’s offense. Achoring their side of the offensive line with outstanding blocking was Jessy Allen and Lucas Dalomba. NPF’s defense was led by Chris McQuinn, Matt Oliver, Shaun Marion and Alex Forbes delivering tough tackles every quarter of the game.

5th Grade: Hudson-Litchfield 28, NPF 0

NPF lost a tough game at Stellos Stadium Sunday against the Hudson-Litchfield Bears. Hustling on offense was NPF’s JJ Fiore, Aiden Gillis and Kyle Krulikowski. Logan Butcher, James MacKenzie and Andy Deutschlander also played well on offense. Ryan Sheehan contributed to the offensive effort with a nice kick return.

NPF’s defense responded to the Hudson-Litchfield Bears with a blocked extra point by Garrett Hillard, a fumble recovery by Jordan Bodwell and a nice interception by Chris Heitmiller. Nathan Nugent had number a solid tackles.

6th Grade: NPF 18, Hudson-Litchfield 12

NPF stormed back down by 12-0 to win 18-12 at Stellos Stadium in Nashua. Late game heroics belong to the tandem of QB Johnny Michelin(60 yards passing, 1 TD) and Troy Bottari fueling the rally with a 25 yard TD catch. Scyler Boykin paced by Randall Jenkins each put their personal stamp on the victory with TD runs.

Matt Leavitt had an outstanding game at wide receiver with several key catches during the comeback. NPF’s defense stepped up big in the second half shutting out the Hudson-Litchfield offense. Jacob Kostansek, Nevan Roy, Matt Franco, Anthony Mele and Nate Post were a defensive stone wall for the 3rd/4th quarter with no points allowed.

NPF Middle School JV: NPF 24, Hudson-Litchfield 0

The Nashua PAL Force JV squad scored a 24-0 victory over the Hudson Bears, playing at Nashua’s Stellos Stadium. Enrique Alvarez scored all three touchdowns, with good blocking by Shane Gagnon, David Dominguez, and Patrick Holt. Sam Mena recovered an on-side kick. On defense, Trey LeGraw was a strong force, as well as Tylor Chase at corner. Justin Anderson played solidly at safety, and AJ Vitali grabbed an interception knocked down by Levi Gosselin, who also scored two of the three two-point conversions.

NPF Middle School Varsity: Hudson-Litchfield 25, NPF 6

Nashua PAL was downed 25-6 at Stellos Stadium by the Hudson-Litchfield Bears Middle School Varsity squad. Zach Janoff turned in gutty performance with also scoring a TD. QB Troy Lustic completed a 17 yard rope for a completed pass showing excellent arm strength and accuracy. David Muite with an all-out 57 yard sprint saved a touchdown inspiring teammates and NPF fans with his determination. NPF Middle School Varsity’s next game is with their historic city rival, the Nashua Elks Crusaders.
