Eight Greater Nashua Elks Soccer Shoot Champions, headed by perennial soccer champion, 13-year-old Jack Barbour of Hollis, who has won the Greater Nashua Elks Soccer Shoot Championship for the past six years, has won the New Hampshire State Elks Soccer Championship the past four years and the Elks Regional Soccer Championship the past three years and is now seeking to win the State Title again in Dover with a shot at then winning the Elks Regional Soccer Shoot Championship for the fourth consecutive year. He has now established an unreachable record in the 12 years since the Order of Elks started the Soccer Shoot Program in the country.

Defending 2010 Elks Regional U-14Champion Ted Barbour will be joined by seven Nashua youths, 13-year-old Abigail Pike, 11-year-old Jacob Pike, 11-year-old Shardeia Spearman, 9-year-old Jaimee Conmy, 6-year-old Alexandria Kapopoulos, 9-year-old Ananth Rangan and 7-year-old Keshav Rangan. who will all travel to Dover, Saturday morning, October 15, to compete for the 2011 New Hampshire State Elks Soccer Shoot Championship. The contest will be held at the Dover Elks Lodge’s Soccer Field Complex. Registration begins at 9 a.m. The Shootout begins at 10.

The U8 and the U10 champions will compete in the Five Goal Soccer Shoot with the each kicking 15 shots for score. U8s will kick from a distance of fifteen feet and the U10s from 18 feet with the five goals ranging from 48 inches wide down to 17 inches wide.

The U12 and the U14 champions will kick from 36 feet at a Grid Goal with assorted size openings that will be attached to the front of a regulation 24-foot soccer goal. Contestants will have 15 kicks for score.

The eight Greater Nashua Elks Soccer Champions will be competing against their respective area champions from throughout the State of New Hampshire for the Sate Elks 2011 Soccer Championship on Oct. 15 with the State’s U8s, U10s, U12s and U14s winners advancing to the Area One Regional Soccer Shoot competition in Syracuse, N.Y. the weekend of Nov. 4-6. The actual contest day is Saturday, Nov. 5.
