BARTLETT–The Buddy Werner League (BWL) State Championships were held at Attitash on March 12-13 where hundreds of the best racers from ski teams across New Hampshire came together to compete in the slalom and giant slalom two-day event. The Crotched Mountain Junior Race Team qualified 19 racers.
For the second year in a row, Ashley Humphreys from Lyndeborough was named to the BWL New Hampshire State Team representing Crotched Mountain by coming in top 10 in the Girl’s J5 division, ages 9-10. Humphreys had a 18th and 12th place runs in the giant slalom on Saturday to come in 13th place overall then on Sunday she lit up the course with an aggressive and smooth run to avoid problem with a flush gate that was causing trouble to many other racers to place 6th on that run with a time of 44.84 then on her second run her time was 46.17, good for 9th place run where she placed 8th overall for the slalom race with a combined time of 1:31.02.
