BASKETBALL

Girls Travel

Season ends with tournament

Only three of the nine teammates on the Brookline Wolves sixth-grade girls travel basketball team had ever played on a travel team.

“They met the challenge of tournament play head on with determination and skill. They played their hearts out never giving up until the final buzzer.” said Coach Laura Goulet.

Team captains Gracie Santoski, Cassandra Stapelfeld and Bella Demayo look forward to working to keep the team playing together. Since it is difficult to line up everyone’s schedule, Coach Laura offered her neighborhood hoop for informal practice. The Neff family hosted a season-end party. The coaches and the team exchanged gifts and teammate Gracie Santoski was voted MVP. Team members at the Fundamental Hoops Girls February Shootout at Merrimack College in North Andover, Mass., were Coach Dave Demayo, Jillian Neff, Katarina Kotarski, Maegan Castriotta, Nicole Bourque, Felicity Robert, Coach Laura Goulet, Cassandra Stapelfeld, Gracie Santoski, Simron Bhogal and Bella Demayo.
