Flag football (U7): Force Blue 21, Goffstown 7

The PAL Force Blue team played stingy defense, led by Charlie Bellavance, Ben Mullett and Bobby Canaway. Ariyan Cora, Cody Morton and Jessy Allen wreaked havoc in the Eagles’ backfield. The PAL offense scored early when Gavin Connors and Jayden Allen opened a hole for Patrick Keegan, leading to the first of his two touchdowns. Nick Digesse continued the ground offensive the second PAL score.

Flag football (U7): Force Yellow 28, Bedford 21

The Force Yellow squad scored early and often behind the gapping holes opened up by Reid and Devyn Lavoie, who sprung quarterback Kobe Pacheco for two first half touchdowns. Patrick Costa added a third.

The defense was led by the disciplined open-field tackling of David Simpson and Aidan Watson. The second half opened with long runs by DJ Declement and Trent Jackson – capped by a final score by Pacheco. Shutting down the Jaguars offense were Art McLaughlin and Drew Sheehan.

3rd grade: Force beats Hudson

Led by game captains Patrick Melanson, John Jigargian, Owen Finn and Mike Zabriskie, the Force third graders defeated Hudson on touchdowns by Keegan Mills (two) and James Heitmiller. Max Ackerman, Kyle Krulikowski, Jack Zabriskie and Mike Zabriskie played well on the offensive line. Mills, Chris Heitmiller, Shea Philbrook and Robbie Long played solid defense.

4th grade: Hudson 18, Force 0

The PAL Force fourth graders were defeated by the Hudson Bears at Stellos, dropping to a 1-2 record despite solid offensive efforts from Luc Blondeau, Conner Erickson, Alex George, Jeremy Simmons and J.J. Kammann. Key Force players on the defensive side of the ball were Griffin Dane, Ben Sitar and James Mackenzie.

5th grade: Force 6, Hudson 0 (OT)

The Force fifth grade squad garbbed a thrilling overtime win against the Hudson Bears at Stellos Stadium.

Offensive standouts were Randall Jenkins, Alexe Mallor, Nevan Roy, Sclyler Boykin, Jacob Kostansek, Zac Garbos and Melvin Dube, with Jenkins scoring the winning touchdown. The Force’s shutout defenders were Troy Bottari, Anthony Costa, Alex White, Brian Ahern, Dalton Lonardo, Adonis Johnson and Timmy Rose.

6th grade: Force 18, Laconia 6.

The PAL Force sixth graders improved to 2-1 by topping the Hudson Bears 18-6 at Stellos.

Levi Gosselin scored all three Force touchdowns behind great offensive efforts by Oscar Velazquez, Patrick Holt and Jose Melendez and runs by Hunter Law and Stephen Giaconia.

The tough PAL defense was anchored by Justin Anderson, AJ Vitali, Steve Lambert, Tylor Chase, Finn Littlefield and Zach Bodwell.

Middle School: Hudson beats Force varsity and junior varsity

The Nashua Pal Force Varsity Middle Schoolers were shut out by the Hudson Bears despite solid games from Demitri Jackson and Christian Bouchard.

The Force Middle School Junior Varsity team also lost to Hudson. Gerardo Sanchez, David Muite, Jeffrey Mitchelll, Jordan Delgado, Andrew Lennartson. and Jackson Slater. Zach Janoff had the only touchdown for the Force JV’s.

3rd Grade: Crusaders 13, Goffstown 19

The Crusaders played a tough and hard fought game on Sunday morning in Goffstown in which it came down to the final minutes and simply ran out of time trying to tie the game. While the defense held the Eagles to only three touchdowns, their defense held us to two. In short this was a defensive game with a lot of effort put forth by both defenses. Some notables for the Crusaders – Nathan Zalzal had a touchdown, Curtis Harris had a touchdown and interception, Eren LaBonte swatted two pass plays, and Alex Ortiz got the game ball for being the player that put forth the most effort and played the hardest the whole game.

4th Grade: Crusaders 32, Salem 13

The Nashua Elks Crusader’s fourth grade team improved to 2-1 after beating Salem in an exciting game. Nashua jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter after quarterback Andrew Penkala scored on a 30-yard keeper, followed by an extra point pass to Jeffrey Reza.

In the second quarter, the Crusaders found the end zone two more times and received touchdowns from Jake Robbins and Penkala, as well as another extra point pass to Casey McNally. At the half, the Crusaders led 20-0 and appeared to have the game well in hand; however, the Salem offense came alive and scored two quick touchdowns, tightening the score to 20-13. The Nashua offense did not panic and responded with another running touchdown from Penkala. In the fourth quarter, both teams had several scoring opportunities, but the respective defenses did not break until Penkala put the finishing touch on Nashua’s day, scoring his fourth touchdown of the game. Nashua’s offensive line had their second great game in a row and opened holes all day for the Nashua runners. The Crusaders received tremendous blocking from Jeremiah Lones, Aaron Noonan, Quincy Cotto, Max Sheppard and Sam Barisano.

As the score indicates, the Nashua defense had a solid game. Leading the Crusaders’ defense in tackles were Jaylan Pacheco, Mike Robbins and Brenden Frost. Pacheco and Robbins combined to make one of the key defensive plays of the game, when Robbins caused a Salem fumble in the fourth quarter that was ultimately recovered by Pacheco. The play stopped one of Salem’s critical scoring opportunities. Also playing well for the Nashua defense, collecting multiple tackles, were Braden McDonnell, Jack D’Amato, Cole Desmond and Jason Messier. Nashua’s special teams also played a big part in the victory, as field position was critical for Nashua. The Crusader’s special teams were led by Christian Belonga, McNally and Tige McNulty.

Varsity: Crusaders fall to Goffstown

The varsity Crusaders lost to a tough Goffstown team. Quarterback Mike Osgood played well for the Crusaders throwing for 150 yards, including touchdown passes of 70 and 25 yards to Ryan Penkala and Alex Boudreau. Offensive linemen Joel Symes, Nick Koch, Jacob Derusha, Tyler Boudreau, Jacob Barton and Kevin Smith provided excellent pass protection throughout the game. Isiah Bugg provided the defensive play of the game stripping the ball and returning it 45 yards for a touchdown.

JV: Goffstown beats Crusaders

The JV Crusaders played tough in a loss to Goffstown. Corey Lewis, Richie Leets and Zach Milot ran tough for the Crusaders behind the offensive line of Cody Butler, Dakota Lane, Colin Malone, Alec Regan, Jesse Mandravelis, Zavier Rumardo, Iziah Diaz, Andrew Dasilva and Tyler Radil. Kali Smith, Terrence Mesadieu, Keenan Dwyer and Gage Donaghue led the Crusaders defensive effort.

U12 Girls

Classics earn runner-up at Bandits Cup

The Bedford Classics U12 travel team finished as runner-up at the Bandits Cup Labor Day Soccer Tournament.

The girls won their first game, 2-1, second game 6-0, third game 7-1 and lost in the finals 1-0. The team scored 15 goals against their opponents while giving up just three goals. This was their first tournament under new coach Matt Dion.

The girls are excited about their upcoming season in GYSL.

The team consists of Gina DeCinto, Alyssa Picard, Anna Garrison, Mollie Redman, Gabby Goumas, Natalie Kelley, Lauren May, Lauren Phelps, Grace Lachance, Autumn Londo, Tyler Schiappa, Haley Goff, and Stephanie MacMillan.
