BASKETBALL

Biddy Basketball: Registration Forms for the 2010 Biddy Basketball program will be available at selected areas around Nashua beginning the week of Sept. 7. The Nashua Parks & Recreation Department will accept registrations until Oct. 15 at 5 p.m. All new players and players moving up in an age division are required to fill out a registration form and tryout. All players trying out are placed on a team. Returning players do not need to register or tryout.

Registration forms will be available at the main offices of all Nashua public and private schools, the Nashua Public Library, the City Clerk’s office at City Hall, Jeannottes and Bright Spot convenience stores, and the Recreation Department at Greeley Park. Forms can be downloaded from the Parks & Recreation website at www.gonashua.com.

Cost for the season is $20 per player. Tryout dates for each division are on the registration forms.

NASHUA NIGHTHAWKS: The Nashua Nighthawks will hold tryouts for their boys travel teams on Oct. 16 at Girls Inc. in Nashua. Times are broken down as follows: grades 3-4, 12:30-1:30 p.m.; grade 5, 1:30-3 p.m.; grade 6, 3-4:30 p.m.; grade 7, 4:30-6 p.m.; grade 8, 6-7:30 p.m. There is a $20 tryout fee ($25 family rate) assessed to cover gym rental and incidental costs.

NH HUSKIES: The NH Grizzlies AAU baseball program has a very few select roster openings for their 2011 teams. The program is for serious baseball players (ages 13-14-15) who want the highest quality instruction and non-parent managers and coaches for competitive games/tournaments. Check www.nhgrizzlies.com for the alumni who have actually been through the program and are or have played in collegiate baseball. Three alumni who were signed by MLB organizations. The program is year-round. Payment plans and fund-raising opportunities are available.

HOLLIS CAL RIPKEN FALL BALL: The Hollis Cal Ripken Baseball Association is holding its fall registration online at www.holliscalripken.org. Players between the ages of 9 and 12 as of April 30 are eligible. Registration runs through Sept. 2.

NH BLACK FLIES: The 2011 New Hampshire Black Flies 13U AAU baseball team will hold tryouts at 4 p.m. today at Riley Field in Bedford. The highly competitive program that produced an AAU national championship in 2008 offers fall ball, indoor winter training, professional instruction and league and tournament play. SWIMMING

SOUTHERN NH FINS: The Southern NH FINS offer a competitive swim program from September through March for children 6-18 years old. Tryouts for the 2010-2011 season will be held on Saturday, Sept. 18 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. and Sunday, Sept. 19 from 9-10 a.m. Arrive anytime between those times at the Boys & Girls Club of Nashua, 47 Grand Avenue, Nashua.
