Nashua U13 Cobras 5, Pelham SC 1

Srishail Thapa, Ryan Guidaboni, Nick LaBate, Ethan Harrington, Sean Fenlon and Kennedy Dowling led the offense as Nashua picked up a 5-1 win over Pelham.

Cobras goalies Matt Hatch and Wesley Vanderburgh and defenders Alexandre DePenasse, Evan Lowe and David Wang held Pelham in check.

Oyster River United 6, Nashua U13 Cobras 3

The Cobras had a rough start to the game and quickly fell behind until Nick LaBate scored on a penalty kick to cut the deficit to 4-1 at half.

Defenders Abigail McIntosh, Garrett Prince and Matt Migneault controlled the defensive zone in the second half for the Cobras while Kenny Robinson an Matt Hatch controlled the offensive zone to help Ryan Guidaboni, who scored two goals in defeat.

GYMNASTICS

Four NSG prep-optional girls win State All-Around titles

Nashua School of Gymnastics’ Prep-Optional teams traveled to Gymnastics at Brentwood Commons for the State meet, and four NSG gymnasts came away with State All-Around championships for their age groups. Many other NSG members placed in individual events.

The Novice team placed second (111.475), the Intermediate team placed first (110.575) and the Advanced team placed third (106.725).

Nashua Blast U11 9, Salem Snipers 4

The Nashua Blast U11 team continued their winning streak by defeating the visiting Salem Snipers 9-4. Todd Redman led the scoring for Nashua with four goals and three assists. Joey Paige added two more goals with Kyle Fisher, Brendan Martin and Alex Moody contributing one goal each. Joey Fisher also contributed an assist as did Tyler DuBien.

Doug Barker, Troy Battari, Kory Holt and Will Haller rounded out the Blast victory with solid contributions on both defense and offense.

Nashua Blast U11 14, Hampstead 4

The Nashua scoring attack was led by Nick Page, Cyrus Forcier, Shane Puleo and Anthony Costa. Other goals were scored by Matt Lambalot, Max Osgood, Jake Kellerher, Andrew Brown and Aiden McAndrews. The defensive line was led by Max Osgood, Brandon Lacy, Jacob Holmes and Mason Miller. James Petz had a great game in goal in the first half with 13 saves while Nick Page had six saves in the second half.

Londonderry U11 9, Nashua Blast U11 8

There was great offense by the attackmen Luc Blondeau, Jake Kellerher, Matt Lambalot and Zac Wilson, with goals scored by many players – James Heightmiller scored his first goal of the season. Middies Tyler Dubien, Cyrus Forcier, Jared Zeichick and Simon Morrier also played a great game. The defensive line fought hard to stay ahead of Londonderry and were leading most of the game. James Petz had 11 saves in net.

Nashua Blast U13A 8, Exeter U13A 4

The Nashua Blast Boys U13A team won 8-4 over Exeter. Leading the way was Tom Haller with two goals. Garett Bozek, Sean Holmes, Casey Fisher, Scotty Costa, Steve Saucier, Andrew DeCarteret had one goal each. Sean Chipman, Finn Littlefield, Travis Moore and Sean Murphy all contributed to a strong defensive effort. Ryan Marvin worked hard to keep the ball out of the goal and came away with 13 saves.

Nashua Blast U13A 8, John Stark United 7 (OT)

Leading the way for Nashua was Tom Haller with two goals, including the game-winner in overtime. Stevie Saucier also added two goals. Jake Redman, Scotty Costa, Sean Holmes and Ryan Guidaboni each had a goal. Garret Bozek, Mitch King, Casey Fisher also played well.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Nashua U11 Blast 10, Concord 7

Leading the Blast was Zoe Fillebrown with four goals, Jenna Tingley and Danielle Upton with two and Olivia Koutsos and Lindsay Holmes each with one. Hannah Trader, Aylssa DeCarteret, Hannah Fortin, Abigail Rowe all contributed to a strong defensive effort while Julia Gagnon and Madison Owen were crucial to the defense with a strong game in net. Arrianna Mohler, Gabrielle Masseur and Payson Mooso also had a great game, winning several ground balls.

Plymouth 11, Nashua U15 Blast 6

Despite a strong defensive games by Riley Bates, Naomi Aguilar, Caitlin Russell, Sierra Mullen and Catherine Connolly, as well as a nine-save performance in net by Victoria Shattuck, the U15 Nashua Blast girls came up on the short end of an 11-6 outcome. Kara Upton had four goals for the Blast and Madison Ledoux scored two while Mia Cullerot, Victoria Kane, Molly Mulcahy, Erin Kelley, Caroline McKenzie and Amanda Barton played hard on the offensive end.

STREET HOCKEY

Nashua Catholic 12, Fairgrounds 10

In Nashua Police Athletic League middle school street hockey action at the Boys and Girls Club outdoor street hockey rink, Officer Joe Brown’s Nashua Catholic Jr. High squad barely outlasted PAL Officer Karen Becotte’s Fairgrounds team, 12-10.

Gary Storace accounted for seven of NC’s goals, and was then installed as the goalie.

Brother-sister combo Bryan and Catherine Connolly combined for four Fairground goals.

Offered on Friday afternoons by the Nashua PAL in conjunction with the BGCGN, teams have formed and continue to form at each of Nashua’s middle schools. Interested students can register at their middle school’s Main Office.

Braves 12, Diamondbacks 2

The Braves exploded for 11 of their 12 runs in a two-inning span that brought the game to an early conclusion. Mike Pelletier had a stellar offensive day with three hits, including his first home run of the season and a pair of RBIs. Jacob Burbank also homered and doubled while driving in four more runs on the day. Timmy Brown also had a pair of singles. Brett Roy, Mike Osgood and Chris Cruz each scored twice. Larry Lassiter struck out five batters in just two innings on the mound. Gavin Pelletier pitched one inning striking out two. Andrew Thibault (single) reached base twice for the Diamondbacks.

Braves 15, Diamondbacks 2

In a repeat of their previous game, the Braves continued their hot hitting ways breaking open a 3-1 game, again scoring 12 runs in a two-inning span. Gavin Pelletier was the offensive star of the day with three hits, including a grand slam and double in the same inning. Jacob Burbank, Chris Cruz and Pelletier all scored three times, while Max Osgood scored a pair of runs. Larry Lassiter pitched four strong innings for the win, striking out nine along the way. Jay Wilson, Andrew Thibault, Tim Columbus and Dylan Gamache had hits for the D-backs.

Braves 7, NW Braves 2

The West Braves managed to hold off the NW Braves 7-2 in a rain-shortened contest. Jacob Burbank gave the West Braves an outstanding effort on the mound, hurling five innings and striking out 12 batters. The NW Braves only managed two hits on the night both by Curt Delaney. The West Braves did manage to break out their bats and knock out 14 hits for the game. Gavin Pelletier, Burbank, Mike Pelletier, Timmy Brown and Max Osgood each had a pair of hits. Chris Cruz knocked in three runs while Brown also plated two more with a clutch two-out hit. Zach Bodwell collected his first hit of the season and Brett Roy was solid in center field.

NASHUA NORTHWEST

MAJORS

Orioles 15, North Mets 2

Ricky Constant led the charge with three home runs, a double and five RBIs. Constant also pitched three scoreless innings striking out six Mets batters. Other hits/runs came from Michael Rogers (1/2), Evan Conners (2/3), Greg Stanton (3/2), Andrew Dahl (1/2), Timmy Robinson (1/1) and Ben Shea (1/1). Robinson also pitched two good innings in the victory.

Braves 15, North Diamondbacks 5

Spencer Bergeron hit his first home run of the season in his first at bat and went 4 for 4 on the day, scoring four runs. Bergeron also pitched three shutout innings to lead the Braves to victory. Alley Fortin made a great catch in center double up the runner on first. Fortin reached base three times, scoring on each occasion.

North Angels 14, Royals 11

The two teams combined for 16 hits – five of those home runs. Mike Muchemore and Jack Barnes hit home runs for the Royals in the loss.

Royals 3, West Cubs 2

Michael Muchemore’s three-run homer in the first proved to be the deciding runs as the Royals let their pitching and defense do the rest.

Braves 8, West Diamondbacks 6

The Braves were able to hold off a sixth-inning charge by the West Diamondbacks to win 8-6. Jeremiah Latham went 2 for 3, reaching base three times and scoring three runs. Noah Ouellette, Latham and Deven Brasil combined for the win on the mound.

West Orioles 5, Orioles 4

Getting hits for the Northwest Orioles were Timmy Robinson, Greg Stanton and Rick Constant. Constant was 3 for 3, with a three-run home run. Stanton pitched in relief with bases loaded, and recorded three straight outs without allowing a run.

West Cubs 10, Royals 3

Cam Bennett and Trevor Lessard had two singles each and Michael Muchemore had two doubles in the loss. Patrick Carr pitched three innings for the Royals.

Orioles 3, West Diamondbacks 2

The Orioles got hits from Greg Stanton, Andrew Dahl and Timmy Robinson. Michael Rogers, David Erikson and Stanton scored runs. Rick Constant struck out five of the seven batters he faced. Evan Conners and Rogers also pitched well allowing only one hit and two walks collectively over four innings.

AAA

Braves 19, Indians 7

The Braves won their fourth straight game of the season. The Indians took an early lead in the first with a two-out triple from Kushal Shah. The Braves answered with six in the second and never looked back, courtesy of stellar performances on the mound from Trevor Kelly, Jack Gauthier and James Hogan-Hines. Offensively the Braves were led by Nevan Roy, who walked in the first, blasted a bases-clearing triple in the fourth that broke the game wide open, and then singled in the sixth.

Orioles 10, Royals 1

Nathan Nugent pitched a complete six-inning one-run game, striking out 12 in the process for the win. Tyler Moraros, Alexis Gayac and Hayden Brooks had great days at the plate and in the field. For the visiting Royals, Kevin O’Brien and Sky Boykin pitched well and Hannah Fortin and Kaitlyn Kost both played well.

Indians 14, North Braves 8

Offensively the Indians broke it open in the second inning scoring seven runs. Randell Jenkins hit two doubles, Kushal Shah blasted a triple in the second and Austin Ouellette had two hits as well. Eric Poublon, Hannah Muchemore and Peter Bowe combined their pitching efforts to help the Indians to victory.

Braves 4, North White Sox 0

The Braves dedicated this game to injured teammate Jack Gauthier. It was a true team win, 10 strikeouts and some incredible plays in the field to hold the White Sox to no hits. The victory keeps the Braves undefeated at 6-0.

NASHUA SOUTH

MAJORS

A’s 8, Royals 4

Patrick McDonnell started and pitched four innings, striking out seven and working out of some tight jams. Ryan North caught a line drive and turned it into a double play. On the Royals side, Ryan Szczygielski caught a line drive near the warning track and doubled off the runner retreating to first. Owen Amigo made several nice plays at short and Patrick Bue made a grab in right that took away a hit. Mike Fuller pitched the final two innings for the A’s, striking out four while allowing just one hit and a walk. The A’s offense was led by Brian Toupin (2 for 3), Fuller (2 for 3, three RBIs), Chad Olivieri (single, two RBIs) and McDonnell. The Royals had big days from Alex Parrott (2 for 2, RBI) and Steve Signorello (2 for 3, RBI), Amigo (double) and Luke Anzel. Amigo pitched one inning and Matthew Savoia closed out the game for the Royals.

Giants 4, Royals 1

The Giants received solid pitching from Jason Fox, CJ Mellon and Ryan Penkala. The bottom of the third inning made the difference in this game with a key walk from Charlie Deichmann and some heads-up base running by Brian Barrows and Penkala. Key defensive plays were made by the Giants’ Nick Quadros and Riley Bourque. The Royals received offense from Steve Signorello and Patrick Bue, and solid pitching from Ryan Szczygielski and Matt Savoia.

A’s 3, Giants 1

The A’s got all the offense they needed in the first inning when a single by Patrick McDonnell scored Chad Olivieri. However, Mike Fuller brought additional excitement with a home run off the concession stand. The Giants got an infield single from Riley Bourque who later came around to score. Olivieri started and pitched five innings, striking out 11, allowing one hit and making a nice diving play on a comebacker. Fuller closed out the game with an efficient 11-pitch inning. The Giants received solid pitching from Michael Levasseur, CJ Mellen and Ryan Penkala.

A’s 16, Phillies 2

The A’s received three scoreless innings from Mike Fuller, who struck out eight and walked just one. Anthony Martin, Tyler North and Ryan North each pitched a solid inning for the A’s,

Offensively, Fuller was 4 for 4 with two home runs, a double, and five RBIs. Chad Olivieri also had a home run and three RBIs. The Phillies received hits from Max Coffin and Zach Cunningham.

Chris Fisher, Jacob Derush and Coffin handled the pitching duties. For the A’s Rohan Patel, Anthony Martin (two hits), Nikhil Karnane, Chaz Magras, Tyler North and Patrick McDonnell (two hits) also contributed with singles.

Rockies 13, Royals 11

The Royals’ offense had a total of 10 hits, highlighted by a two-run homer by Stephen Signorello. Also having solid offensive games were Owen Amigo, Alex Parrott, Alex Amigo, Noah Telerski and Cameron Novotny.

Giants 9, Orioles 2

The Giants’ offense started strong, with four runs in the first inning, highlighted by a three-run homer by Ryan Penkala. The Giants also received offensive contributions from Cam Kessel, Charlie Diechmann, Brian Barrows, Jason Fox and Owen Shea. Defensively, Riley Bourque played a great center field. Jason Fox and Mike Levasseur combined for nine strikeouts. The Orioles received solid pitching from Keenan Dwyer and Cam Stockman, combining for seven strikeouts. Offensively, the Orioles received hits from Christian Lowell, Kyle Cappone and Trevor Hult.

AAA

Astros 12, Blue Jays 11

The Astros and Blue Jays played a tight game at Dresher Field. The Jays’ offense was led by Nic Stockman (home run), Neysa Ouellette, Ryan Vermette, Zach Wilson, Cam Bisson and Tyler Linscott. The Blue Jays received solid pitching from Brennan Bergerson. The Astros received offense from Chase Hart (double), Andrew Patno and Stefan Martin.

Giants 12, A’s 2

The Giants topped the A’s behind solid pitching from Seth Bridge and Thomas McClendon. Both pitchers were assisted by stellar defense from John Miles. Miles also had three hits and an RBI. Braden McDonnell hit a single in the fourth and scored for the Giants. Highlights for the A’s included two hits from Anthony Ceci.

Rockies 5, Giants 4

Casey McNally and Jake Fitzpatrick sparked the offense for the Rockies with back-to-back doubles. Kavim Bhatnagar pitched well for the Rockies and also got a clutch single to help push in the winning run. The Giants’ Zach Finklestein had a nice single and a nice defensive play as catcher throwing out a baserunner trying to steal third base.

Cardinals 12, Blue Jays 2

The Jay’s Nic Stockman pitched a good game. Devin Gates and Adam Robinson pitched well for the Cardinals, while Austin Long, Ben Morin, Chris Haley, Vincent Annicchiarico and Ben Lugo led the Cards’ offense.

MINORS

Blue Jays 12, A’s 5

CJ Kapopoulos had a hit, but Jacob Smith stole the show with a double and a long home run. The Blue Jays were led by the pitching and hitting of Eric Patricio. CJ Dawe continued his stellar pitching with a strong inning. In the field, Erica Levesque made a strong play at third base.

Orioles 5, Giants 2

Eren LaBonte took the mound for the Orioles and went two innings, striking out four. Brendan Choate pitched the next two innings and gave up one run, while striking out five. Choate and Mason Lindscott both had singles and an RBI. For the Giants, Brandon Yan had two hits and scored twice. Ryan Murray had a hit and an RBI. Nathan Cormier pitched well and struck out the side. Joey Butrula made a great tag at the plate. Drew Dunham made a great play in rIght field.

AAU

Knights sweep GID in twinbill

The New Hampshire Knights U13 twice defeated Team GID at Nashua High School North, 10-6 and 14-1 in a doubleheader. A two-run double by Matt Lavallee and the pitching of Nick Dube, Cam Cox and John Vidal completed a come-from-behind win in Game 1.

In the second game, the Knights scored 14 runs in a 10 run-rule decision. Dario Vitagliano and Lavallee pitched well for the Knights and Brendan Martin, Tom Schmalz, Vitagliano and Vidal each scored two runs.

Knights sweep Cannons

The U14 Knights picked up two division victories over the Concord Cannons with strong pitching performances from Brendan Robbins and C.J. Boykin.

In Game 1, Brad Deluca led the charge going 2 for 3 while scoring two runs, Robbie Flohr was 1 for 2 with a walk and also scored twice. Robbins picked up the win and James Commisso added a hit while closing out the 10 run mercy rule-shortened game in the fifth on the mound.

In Game 2, Boykin helped his own cause by scoring three times while Robbins was 2 for 3 (single, double, walk), Evan Richardson was solid behind the plate and blasted a triple to deep right field.

Jordan Oelkers was 2 for 2 and Matt Byers 1 for 2, both providing timely hits in an eight-run fourth to send the Cannons home early in another 10-run rule game.
