On April 1 over 150 young and talented athletes were named to the American Youth Football and Cheer All American Team – 2010 Academic Achievement Alliance (AAA). These scholar athletes each hold a 98 percent or higher grade point average, while making a mark in their local communities. All of the AAA winners exhibit AYF’s four pillars of achievement – academics, respect, discipline and performance.

“On behalf of American Youth Football and American Youth Cheer I would like to congratulate our scholarship winners for showing leadership in the classroom,” AYF president Joe Galat said in a press release. “Thanks to Eastbay our Academic Achievement Alliance Partner, their efforts are recognized by a scholarship to help defray their college tuition.”

In addition to this honor, Eastbay Athletic SportsSource also awarded 10 scholarship winners from this All-American Team. Four of these recipients are located in Hudson.

To be considered for this award, these scholars exemplified Academics, Sportsmanship and Community. Out of 600,000 AYF athletes, Jessica Baker, Samantha Harrison, Kailee Darisse and Jacob Hodgdon were awarded this honor and scholarship.

Each of these athletes embodies character qualities that include honesty, loyalty, intelligence, helping and compassion.

All four carry a 4.0 in academics and are members of various scholastic groups.

They also have huge hearts for community activities that benefit others such as the DARE program, the Ronald McDonald House, Lend A Paw and Box Tops 4 Education.
