SWIMMING

NASHUA PARKS-REC.: The Nashua Parks and Recreation Department is accepting 2010 summer swim lesson registrations. Registration forms are available at the Recreation Office in Greeley Park and on the web at www.gonashua.com. Parents can sign up their child for two of the three sessions prior to July 5. After July 5, registrations will be accepted for remaining session(s). Swim Lessons are $20 per child or a maximum of $60 per family per session. Early Bird signups will run until June 24. Each session runs two weeks and lessons are 30 minutes in length. All lessons take place between 9 a.m.-noon. Dates of the sessions are as follows: Session 1 June 28-July 9; Session 2 July 19-30; and Session 3 from Aug. 9-20.

GRANITE STATE SCHOOL: Sean Wisbey’s Granite State Soccer School will be holding Summer Soccer Camps in Merrimack for Boys and Girls Ages 8-18 during the month of July and High School prep Camp Aug. 9-13 in preparation for high school soccer tryouts. BASKETBALL

SUMMER BASKETBALL SCHOOL: The 8th annual Wildcat Basketball School, held on the campus of Nashua Catholic, is set for three session in June and July. Co-ed Camp for grades 3-4 will run June 28-July 2, while Girls Camp for grades 5-8 is scheduled for July 12-16 and Boys Camp for grades 5-8 is set for July 19-23. NASHUA NIGHTHAWKS/FEED THE POST: The Nashua Nighthawks and Feed the Post, a basketball training program, will partner together beginning May 9 at Girls Inc. in Nashua for 11 training sessions over the next five months. Players in grades three-12 that are interested in elevating their game can visit www.nashuanighthawks.com and download the registration form. Mail the form with a check for $135 to: Mark Wyatt, 5 Olympia Circle, Nashua, NH, 03062. Players will be divided into three age divisions: Third-fifth grade; sixth-eighth grade; and ninth-12th grade (high school age). Instruction will focus on fundamentals at the early ages and become more advanced as appropriate. Instructors will use game-speed situations to instruct and teach players. MERRIMACK QB CLUB: The Merrimack High School Quarterback Club will be sponsoring a youth football clinic this summer for ages 7-12. Conducted under the guidance and support of head coach Joe Battista and his staff, this clinic promises a great opportunity for all who participate to improve on the fundamental skills of the game and help increase the level of play. This week-long clinic will run Monday, July 12 through Friday, July 16, from 8 a.m.-noon. Cost is $100 per player. NASHUA BASEBALL ACADEMY: The Nashua Baseball Academy is offering a youth baseball camp for the week of April Vacation. The camp runs April 26-30 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. each day. The camp is for ages 8-14. The camp will be held rain or shine in our indoor and outdoor facilities at 265 Proctor Hill Rd., Hollis. The camp will focus on baseball skills, scrimmages and games. STREET HOCKEY

PAL MIDDLE SCHOOL: Offered on Friday afternoons in April and May by the Nashua Police Athletic League in conjunction with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Nashua. Students at Fairgrounds, Elm Street, and Pennichuck should sign up at the Main Office at each middle school. Students at Nashua Catholic should sign up with Mr. Boissoneault.

LACROSSE

NH LACROSSE FOUNDATION: The New Hampshire Lacrosse Foundation teams – playing in the U.S. Lacrosse National U15 Tournament at Disney between June 17-22 and the U13 teams who will play in two New England regional tournaments between July 2-17 – are looking for more players. Tryouts will be May 3 at the New Hampshire Sportsplex in Bedford from 5:30-8:30 p.m. for Girls U15/U13, while the Boys U15/U13 will go on May 5 at the same place and time. The tryout fee is $25 and all players must be current members of U.S. Lacrosse. Parents should go to www.nhlacrosse.org for details and a registration link.

BASEBALL

GRANITE STATE LEAGUE: Registration has begun for the Granite State Baseball’s Summer Leagues. The purpose of this program is to provide New Hampshire Baseball players with a place to play from Mid-June to Aug. 1.

Teams will play 12 to 20 games depending on the division they are participating. Division break downs are as follows: 11-year-old (70-foot Diamond League) metal bat; 12-year-old (70-foot Diamond League) metal bat; 13-year-old wood bat; 14-year-old wood bat; and Senior Division (15-16 year olds) wood bat.

GSBA is looking for teams. They will attempt to help individuals, but cannot guarantee a spot. Exception is players ages 15-16 can tryout for the GSBA’s 900 Degrees Team. For more information visit www.granitestatebaseball.org.

MYA EXECUTIVE BOARD: The Merrimack Youth Association will be holding Executive Board elections on May 13 at the MYA building.
