SUMMER BASKETBALL SCHOOL: The 8th annual Wildcat Basketball School, held on the campus of Nashua Catholic, is set for three session in June and July. Co-ed Camp for grades 3-4 will run June 28-July 2, while Girls Camp for grades 5-8 is scheduled for July 12-16 and Boys Camp for grades 5-8 is set for July 19-23. MERRIMACK QB CLUB: The Merrimack High School Quarterback Club will be sponsoring a youth football clinic this summer for ages 7-12. Conducted under the guidance and support of head coach Joe Battista and his staff, this clinic promises a great opportunity for all who participate to improve on the fundamental skills of the game and help increase the level of play. This week-long clinic will run Monday, July 12 through Friday, July 16, from 8 a.m.-noon. Cost is $100 per player. NASHUA BASEBALL ACADEMY: The Nashua Baseball Academy is offering a youth baseball camp for the week of April Vacation. The camp runs April 26-30 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. each day. MERRIMACK CARDINALS: The Merrimack Cardinals Football and Spirit program will be holding registration on April 16 from 6-8 p.m. and April 17 from 9 a.m.-noon at the MYA building. This will be the last chance to take advantage of our Early Bird Registraion fee. To register you must pre-register online at www.merrimackcardinals.org. Then each player/cheerleader must also attend one of the in-person registration sessions and provide a copy of their birth certificate and Pop Warner 2010 Physical Fitness and Medical history form, front and back. Physical must have taken place on or after 1/01/09. Registrations are on a first-come, first-serve basis.

PAL MIDDLE SCHOOL: Offered on Friday afternoons in April and May by the Nashua Police Athletic League in conjunction with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Nashua. Students at Fairgrounds, Elm Street, and Pennichuck should sign up at the Main Office at each middle school. Students at Nashua Catholic should sign up with Mr. Boissoneault.

BASEBALL

GRANITE STATE LEAGUE: Registration has begun for the Granite State Baseball’s Summer Leagues. The purpose of this program is to provide New Hampshire Baseball players with a place to play from Mid-June to Aug. 1. Teams will play 12 to 20 games depending on the division they are participating. Division break downs are as follows: 11-year-old (70-foot Diamond League) metal bat; 12-year-old (70-foot Diamond League) metal bat; 13-year-old wood bat; 14-year-old wood bat; and Senior Division (15-16 year olds) wood bat.

GSBA is looking for teams. They will attempt to help individuals, but cannot guarantee a spot. Exception is players ages 15-16 can tryout for the GSBA’s 900 Degrees Team. For more information visit www.granitestatebaseball.org.

NASHUA PARKS-REC.: The Nashua Parks & Recreation Department is holding tryouts for Babe Ruth teams as follows: 13-year-olds last name A-J on April 12 (6:30 p.m.) at Ledge Street; 13 last name K-Z on April 13 (6:30) at Ledge Street; 14-year-olds on April 14 (6:30) at Ledge Street; and 15-year-olds and make-ups for all ages on April 15 (6:30) at Ledge Street. Those players not making a Babe Ruth team will be placed on a Ray Oban team. Players who did not register by the April 9 deadline can still register, but will be placed on a Ray Oban team and cannot attend tryouts.

GRANITE STATE GATORS: The AAU U13 Granite State Gator Baseball team is looking for two or three more players. NASHUA PARK-REC.: The Nashua Parks & Recreation Dept. is now accepting player registration forms for the upcoming softball season. Rookie League (ages 7-9) – register/no tryouts as players are assigned to a team; Junior League (ages 9-12) – 9-year-olds can register and tryout for the Junior League with those not making a Junior team assigned to a Rookie team. Please note the Junior National Division will merge with the Junior American Division to form one Junior League. All returning National and American Division players do not need to register or tryout, they return to their old Junior Teams. Only new players need to register and tryout. Senior League (ages 13-16) will have all 13-year-olds and new players needing to register and tryout. All returning players stay with their old team.
