YMCA takes Regionals by STORM

On Feb. 12-14 the YMCA of Greater Nashua STORM swim team competed in the New England NSSC Regional Meet at Salem State College in Salem, Mass.

Eighty-four STORM swimmers qualified for and competed at this meet, and eight of those achieved top three finishes in individual events: Pritthida Chea, Vipheaviny Chea, Abigail Hovey, Elise Jolly, Nico Laborera, Grace Tramack, Rachel Cerato and Grace Li.

New team records were set by Abigail Hovey (female 9-10 100 back), Vipheaviny Chea (female 11-12 200 free, 500 free), Catherine Green (female 11-12 100 fly), Sarah Halstead (female 13-14 200 back, 400 IM), Nico Laborera (male 11-12 500 free, 200 IM) and Tyler Howard (male 13-14 500 free).

New team relay records were set in the Female 11-12 200 Medley (Kerry McCann, Vipheaviny Chea, Catherine Green, Autumn Tierney), the Male 11-12 200 Medley relay (Bryan Laborera, Nico Laborera, Kendrick Rubino, Andy Chaviano), and the Male 13-14 200 Free relay (Rex Li, Tyler Howard, James Jolly, David Johnson).

STORM swimmers also finishing within the top 10 in individual events include: Spencer Brandon, Katherine Brennen, Mattea Dumdey, Catherine Green, Sarah Halstead, Nicholas Heller, Tyler Howard, David Johnson, Bryan Laborera, Rex Li, Alice Loucraft, Charles Loucraft, Gavinn Roby, Autumn Tierney, Daniel Tran, Cassie Wayne and Evan Whaley.

GYMNASTICS

Mailloux third at Mardi Gras Invite

Courtney Mailloux of Nashua competed in the Mardi Gras Invitational in Norwell, Mass. She was second on bars (8.65) and beam (8.4), fourth on vault (8.66) and was third all-around (34.15). She will be competing on March 20 in Level 9 at States.

NSG Prep-Ops solid at Valentine Meet

The weekend of Feb. 13, the Nashua School of Gymnastics Novice and Intermediate Prep-Optional teams earned silver at the Valentine Meet at Phantom Gymnastics in Hampstead.
