Lakers 33, Sharks 29

SinJin Doeurk played spectacular and had eight points. Peyton Adams and Michael Patierno contributed with great defense. The Sharks were led by Tom McLendon with eight points.

Lakers 34, Falcons 14

The player of the game was Jeff Reza with 10 points. Sri Kumar had his high scoring game of five points. The Falcons had seven players that scored two points a piece.

Knicks 44, Saints 19

The Knicks were led by Alex Morales with a season-high 14 points while Razz Alkalay and Tyler Bernard both chipped in with eight markers each. The Saints played a great game led by Andrew Schott, who had a team-high eight points. Tyler Bellemore had a great defensive game for the Saints.

Hornets 21, Pistons 16

The Pistons played a tough game against the first place Hornets. James Bolton had 10 points for the Pistons and Richie Mercado had 10 points for the Hornets. Aidan Taylor, Jadon Smith, Jaydon La Rose and Kevin Barrows made some great passes for the Pistons, while Cam McIntire had many assists for the Hornets.

Knicks 38, Cougars 21

The Knicks were led by Donovan Sherrill, who played outstanding defense and scored his first basket of the season. Also chipping in were Tyler Bernard and Alex Morales, who scored 12 points each. Paul Murtaugh had a season-high eight points. The Cougars were led by Anthony Agor (eight points).

Lakers 44, Spurs 30

Xahn Frater led with 17 points. Sclyler Boykin played spectacular defense and had 11 points.

Lakers 44, Hawks 14

The player of the game was Srimanth Kumar for his endurance and tremendous defense. Xarrack Frater made his first basket of the season. Ty Melanson of the Hawks had six points.

Mustangs 36, Stars 21

The Mustangs defeated the Stars in a well-balanced team effort, in which eight of the 13 players scored points. Leading the Mustangs’ offense was Jay Patel (10 points) and Andrew Penkala (nine points). Also contributing on offense were Dallas Kastens and Rory Curran with four points each. The Stars also had an all-around team effort, with nine different players scoring points – led by Kyle Fisher with three points.

Sharks 28, Hawks 14

The Hawks got great defense from Jared Ouelette and Murray Mahoney, helping to hold the Sharks to just two first quarter points. Ty McCallum led the Hawks’ offense with four points.

Saints 41, Cougars 19

JJ Kammann led a balanced attack with 12 points, while Chris Inzerillo chipped in 10. CJ Barrett had nine points and Brandon Quinn had eight. Brandon Jamieson led the Cougars in scoring with nine.

Tigers 18, Panthers 8

Tigers scoring was led by Katie Carr with eight points. Tigers defense was led by Morgan Laforge and Ally McFadden. Abi Sliwa, Julia Primeau and Desiree Belonga did the scoring for the Panthers.

Knicks 20, Warriors 3

The Warriors were led by Makena Leazer with 10 points and Abbie King with eight. Alawn Choate and Mishka Legatoun had four points each. Hannah Muchemore led a spirited Knicks’ comeback with 14 points.

Tiger vs. Knicks

The Tigers played great defense led by Meghna Kini, Courtney Olsen and Caitlin Demers. Katie Carr, Kara Kelliher, Jasmine Sylvester and Katie Tibando did the scoring for the Tigers. Lexi Moore scored her first basket of the year and Julia Gagnon contributed for the Knicks.

Lakers 22, Panthers 8

The Lakers were led in scoring by Arianna Motivala (eight points), Mia Madden (four) and Danielle Upton (four) and were supported in defense by Hannah Swain, Lynsey Daley and Julia Perry. The Panthers scoring was led by Desiree Belonga (six). Julia Primeau and Lauren Belair held down the defensive side of the court.

Lakers 26, Braves 18

Marianna Gomez (eight points) and Alyssa Morril (four) kept the offense going while Mia Madden and Julia Perry anchored a tough defense for the Lakers. Lyssa Brogan led the Braves.

Warriors 28, Suns 13

The Warriors were led by Abbie King with 10 points. Marissa Gaudette and Mishka Legatova contributed with excellent outside shooting. Ananya Venkatesan paced the Suns with six points.

Jets 36, Lakers 12

Shardeia Spearman led the Jets with 10 points, while forward Stephanie Canto contributed eight. Both Brenna Herbert and Heather Bridge chipped in six each. Danielle Upton led the Lakers with five points including three fouls shots, and Marianna Gomez added her three points from foul shots.

Lakers 28, Astros 12

The Lakers’ offense was led by Marianna Gomez (16 points), Emma Branquinho (six) and Hannah Casey (two) while Caitlyn Donnelly and Julia Perry led the defense. For the Astros, Julia Sullivan and Ashley Murphy led the offense and Lydsey Ireland, Taylor Ireland and Ashley Robert anchored the tough defense.

Panthers 14, Astros 10

Leading the Panthers were Julia Primeau (eight points), Gabbi Swisher (four) and Desiree Belonga (two), while Lauren Belair played swarming defense. The Astros were led by Julia Sullivan (four), Alayja Linton (three) and Maddie Gilchrist (two).

Lakers 37, Knicks 11

Arianna Motivala led the Lakers with 10 points and Emma Branquinho and Marianna Gomez each chipped in with eight. While Hannah Casey and Mia Madden worked hard on defense. Taylor Barry had four points for the Knicks, while Julia Gagnon, Taylor Giguere and Michaela Puleo worked hard on defense.

Laker 36, Suns 6

Danielle Upton (11 points), Caitlyn Donnelly (four) and Hannah Swain (two) were leaders on offense, while Alyssa Morril and Lynsey Daley locked down the defense for the Lakers.

Cougars 48, Jazz 46

The Cougars upset the Jazz, led by Peter Norcross (17 points), who made two free throws with 21 seconds remaining to grab a one point lead.

On the next possession Norcross grabbed a missed shot and made one more insurance free throw for the margin of victory. The Cougars won by scoring the last eight points of the game and received eight points from Robert Mondi and seven points from Dan Soler. The Jazz’ Demetri Jackson was game-high scorer with 19 points, Joey Tibando added eight points, and Zak Jenkins had five.

Warriors 52, Eagles 23

Tyler Boudreau and Jack Barnes led the Warriors with 12 points each. The Eagles were led by Brennan Kastens with eight.

Warriors 38, Bucks 14

The Warriors were led by Myles Reed and Tyler Boudreau with six points each.

Sonics 43, Nationals 25

The Sonics were led by Jordan Buckmire with 10 points while Val Pagan added eight. Tyler Vartebedian played tough defense for the Sonics. The Nationals received strong games from Ryan Nabor and Devon Leonard, who each had 10 points.

Sonics 51, Sharks 43

The Sonics held off a furious second half comeback by the Sharks. The Sonics were paced by Christian Sullivan with 20 points while Jeremy Ouellette had 16. Patrick Sullivan played hard-nosed defense and added nine points.

The Sharks comeback was led by Mike Kernan, who had 16 points, while Cameron Novotny had nine and Justin Howard added seven.

Cavaliers 40, Bullets 32

The Cavaliers were led by Tim Preston (13 points), Chandler Doucette (11) and Mike Muchemore (eight), Caine Rivera and Doucette pulled down double-digit rebounds. The Bullets were led by Alex Boudreau with eight points.

Cavaliers 52, Knicks 32

The Cavaliers were led by Tim Preston (26 points, six steals). Chander Doucette and Caine Rivera controled the board. The Knicks were led by Patrick Carr with eight.

Braves 45, Globetrotters 23

Will Popik, Austin Rancourt and Mike Lee played heads-up defense for the Braves. Michael Taylor led all scorers with 15, while Anthony Martin scored 14.

The ‘Trotters’ Sam McCarthy posted 11 points and Brendan Barrett dropped in six.

Sharks 55, Braves 46

The Sharks’ Justin Howard led all scorers with 30 points, while Mike Kernan added 12 points. Nir Raviv scored eight and Tylor Chase six for the Braves.

Jazz 42, Nationals 31

The Jazz had 10 different players in the scoring column as Jacob Roy and Anthony Martucci led the way with seven points each. The Nationals were led by Devin Leonard with 12 points.

The Lakers were led by Ben Walker with 24 points and Danny McCoy with 14. Nick Bourbeau turned in a strong defensive effort for the Lakers. The Royals were led by Dennis Rumardo with 16 points and Joe Bugley with 10. Ken Jerez turned in a strong defensive effort for the Royals.

Warriors 34, Buck 18

Spencer Bergeron and Cyrus Forcier led the Warriors with seven points each. Andrew Pena had six points for the Bucks.

Warriors 55, Hawks 28

Spencer Bergeron had eight points to lead the Warriors to a win. The Warriors also received a solid six points from Benjamin Beauleiau. Adam Fenlason led the Hawks with eight points.

Demitri Jackson led the Jazz with a game-high 22 points. Mike Kernan and Justin Howard were strong for the Sharks. Connor Baldassaro and Nick Plante were strong defensively.

Leading the Gulls were led by Kyle Reardon (17 points), Max Leatherman (eight), Scott Costa (four) and Finn Littlefield (two). The Saints were led by strong first year players Sean Dezurick (eight points) and Devon Lambert (seven).

Brian Provencher led all scorers with 15 points, while Michael Dubien (six points) and Owen Amigo (five) led the Gulls. Malik Langer paced the Royals with eight points and Zavier Rumardo and Adam Busky added six each.

Christian Sullivan led all scorers with 17 points for the Sonics, while Brian Inzerillo added six. Tyler Vartebedian played outstanding defense. The Jazz were paced by Joe Guidaboni with seven and Nick Martucci with six.

The Cavaliers were led by Tim Preston (16 points) and Chandler Doucette (12). The Bullets were led by Alex Boudreau with 10.

The Cavaliers were led by Chandler Doucette with 10 points. The Stars were led by Steve Wallace and Chad Oliveria with 10 points each.

The Lakers were led by Ben Walker with 16 points and Danny McCoy with 10. Michael Jenkins and Jordan Delgado turned in strong defensives performances. The Sonics were led by Christian Sullivan with 14 points and Jeremy Ouelette with eight.

The Lakers were led by Ben Walker with 14 points, Danny McCoy with eight and Ryan Hughes wiith six. Nick Bourbeau stood out defensively. The Celtics were led by Zach Anzel and Tylor Frank as high scorers. Luke Anzel and Kyle Connors turned in strong defensive performances.

Stars 42, Lakers 10

The Stars were led by Srishail Thada and Chad Olivieri with 10 points each. Brendan Murphy also had a very good game with eight.

The Lancers were led by Harper Niven with four points.

Girls Biddy

Celtics 36, Bulls 17

The Celtics were led by Kiela Bridge with 12 points and Kaylee Verrington with 10. Holly Gaudette and Ali Nelson had six while Isabel Dunning rounded out the scoring with two.

Panthers 23, Pacers 20

The Panthers were led by Tenysha Garvin (10 points), Amanda Stumpf (six) and Shannon March (three). The Pacers were led by Christina Sulfaro (11).

Rockets 39, Tigers 35 (OT)

Joy Carron led the Rockets with 14 points – six of those in overtime.

Mariah Little played great defense to keep the Tigers from running away with it in the fourth quarter.

Liza Bull also played well on the defensive end for the Rockets.

Leading the Tigers in points was Lexis Gaudet (12 points), Rachelle Tyler (10). Sam Holloran played great defense and also scored her first points of the season.

Celtics 45, Lakers 13

Kaylee Verrington led the way with 14 points, while Ali Nelson added 10, Kiela Bridge eight and Mariah Palmer and Isabel Dunning four each.

The Celtics were led by Kaylee Verrington (14), Holly Guadette (12) and Kathryn Stoncious (six).

Tigers 28, Suns 16

Leading the Tigers in scoring was Rachel Tyler with 11 points. Rookie Lexis Correa chipped in with six in the win.

Taleyah Tyler led the Tigers defense with four steals. Teddy Kramer led the Suns with 14 points and Ashley Gosselin tossed in two.

Lexis Gaudet scored 17 points to lead the Tigers to a win over the Lakers.

Lexis Correa chipped in four and Kayla Rittenburg scored two points to help the team win a close battle with the Lakers.

Victoria Ziolek paced the Lakers with eigh points and Krithika Suresh tossed in six to keep pace with the Tigers.

Kaylee Verrington led the Celtics with 19 points, while Holly Gaudette (six points), Ali Nelson (five) and Isabel Dunning (four) chipped in offensively.

Bryan Colby scored 40 points for the Colts, while Nate Madden had 18 for the Spartans.

Mike Bettencourt led all scores with 23 points with support from Matt Fox with 12. The Knicks were led by Mike McCarty with 19.

Suns 66, Heat 51

Matt Fox scored 14 points and Mike Bettencourt added nine to lead the Suns. Brad Fay also chipped in with eight for the winners.

Knicks 59, Pacers 54

The Knicks were led by Kevin Morrissey with 15 points, followed by Mike McCarthy with 11 and Brenden Belzil with eight. Corey Lafontaine led the Pacers with 15 points followed by Don Daigle with 12 (four 3-pointers).

Blue Devils 57, Tomcats 24

Eric Sherman scored 18 points to lead the Blue Devils. Dominic Lebel and Shahil Patel contributed 10 and eight points, respectively, for the Blue Devils.

Blue Devils 68, Jets 39

The Blue Devils had 11 players in the scoring column led by Alec Auten’s 11 points and Eric Sherman and Spencer Rancourt with 10 each.

Suns 72, Blazers 40

Garret Langan, Andrew Dwyer and Kyle Murray paced a strong Suns defense, while the offense was led by Matt Fox (12 points), Austin Bauer (11) and Matt Chapman (13). The Blazers were led by Tyler Warren with eight and Mark Lavain with nine.

Jets 62, Bulls 33

The Jets Sam Horne led the Jets’ offense with 13 points, followed by Parker Jamerson with 12 and Matt

Lipkind with eight.

Blue Devils 47, Bulls 30

Alec Auten scored 12 points and Spencer Rancourt eight to lead the Blue Devils to their 11th win of the season. Gage Anderson had six points for the Bulls.

PeeWee girls win title

The Merrimack PeeWee (third/fourth grade) girls were the only Merrimack team to get to the championship round in the Merrimack Invitational Tournament, and were the only team to win.

Members of the team are Joanne Bonner, Makayla Lachance, Maddie Dyer, Willow Farland, Alex Dubois, Mackenzie Francoeur, Courtney Schaub, Nicole Haney, Olivia Kapsambelis, Sabrina Johnson, Emily Randall, Caroline Valluzzi and coaches Phil Haney and Dave Schaub.

NASHUA NIGHTHAWKS

Fourth graders fall in Merrimack Invite final

The fourth grade Nashua Nighthawks came up just short in the Merrimack Invitational Tournament.

The ’Hawks opened against Londonderry and posted an impressive 28-10 win over the scrappy Lancers.

In the second game, the Nighthawks battled a very good Litchfield squad, winning 29-28 on a Scyler Boykin free throw with only one second remaining.

The Nighthawks then beat host Merrimack 25-15 for a spot in the title game, where Nashua lost 45-41 to Hampton.

The ’Hawks stormed back from an eight-point deficit with two minutes remaining to force overtime.

In overtime, Nashua fell just short in a tremendous effort, losing 45-41. Playing well collectively for Nashua was Nick Harrison, Nick Page, Jeffrey Reza, Xahn Frater, Boykin, Tilak Patel, Mike Meads, Clay Medling, John Paul Champa, Garret Bieren and Anthony Costa.

Fifth grade scores three wins

The fifth-grade Nighthawks rebounded from their first loss of the season with three victories.

The victories came against Andover (Mass.) Gold, Tewksbury (Mass.) Red, and Dracut (Mass.).

The Nashua offense was led by Rohan Patel and DJ Frechette. The Hawks received outstanding defense from Zach Bodwell and Zach Boyer. Additionally, Alex Moody, Cyrus Forcier and Kevin Genao each played very well at the guard position.

Dominating the boards were Max Osgood, Steven Lambert and Mike Levasseur.

Sixth-graders drop tight one

The sixth-grade Nighthawks came up just three points short in a loss to Salem.

The ’Hawks received solid games from Ben Seegel (seven points), Collin Morrow (four) and Garett Bozek. Additionally, Chad Oliveir led all scorers with 20 points, while Jarrett Wilson also chipped in with five.

Casey Fisher stole the ball in the final seconds to close the gap.
