The Nashua Catholic Junior High School wrestling team won the Tri-County Middle School League Division II (small school) championship last weekend, while the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Nashua’s teams at Nashua’s three public middle schools placed third, fourth and fifth in Division I (large schools).

Four Nashua Catholic wrestlers won individual conference championships: Ryan Szczgelski (85-pound class); Marcel Laplante (100); Connor Sullivan (115); and Joe Chimelski (140). Runners-up in their weight classes from Nashua Catholic included Evan Manns (150) and Jakob Rupp (130). The NC squad’s third-place (bronze) medalists were Peter Daniels (110) and Eric Blecharczyk (190).

BGCGN’s Elm Street team, which finished third in the team scoring, had five individual champions: Cam Bennett (80); David Muite (90); Dan Bresse (160); Chris Dube (165); and Josh Norman (Heavyweight). Mike Small was the 190-pound runner-up, while John Sweeney, Alkim Dato and Dean Kennedy finshed third at 105, 110 and 115, resepectively. Remee Perez (70) and Alex LaFrance (190) were Elm Street’s fourth-place (copper) medalists.

BGCGN’s Pennichuck Middle School squad finished fourth in Division I, with four individual champs: Kevin Melanson (70); Ryan RIce (75); Dylan Fitzgerald (120); and Connor McBride (130). Pennichuck’s silver medalists were Dinesh Jamponi (150), Cheyenne Dersome (95) and Will Osbourne (200). Third-place finishers were Jeremy Desmaires (75), Aaron Vargas (120) and Lucas Zanasa (Heavyweight). Pennichuk’s copper medalists were Ben Gingras (75), Riley Bower (95), Jacob Michaud (100) and Duncan Hollan (120).

BGCGN’s Fiaregounds Middle School team placed fourth in Division I. Jake Valeri was the 95-pound champion, while Patrick Sullivan (90) and Jake Patenaude (90) placed second and third, respectively. Patrick Roy, Chris Olsen and Jon Flynn were fourth at 70, 100 and 120, respectively.

Crusader Classic

BGCGN’s youth team (K-fifth grade) competed in the Crusader Classic at Manchester Memorial High School. In the third-fourth grade division, Aren Kennedy was the undefeated champion at 115 pounds, while Colin O’Connor and Ryan Jigarjian were the silver medalists at 60 and 55 pounds, respectively. Garret Hillard was fourth at 105.

In the fifth-sixth grade division, Jordan Rowlette placed third in the 75-pound weight class. In the K-second grade division, Andrew Tate was second at 55, while Brody Burke was fourth at 40. Also competing for BGCGN were Jaiden Dupont, Jason Messier, Levi Gosselin and Anthony Fiorentino.
