Locals move on at Elks Hoop Shoot

By Staff | Jan 3, 2010

The Greater Nashua Elks Hoop Shoot champions dominated the State Elks Southwest District Hoop Shoot Free Throw competition at the Elm Street Middle School Gym, as they won five of the six Southwest District age categories. Four Nashua youths advanced, including Teddi Starr-Kramer (13), DJ Frechette (11), Isabel Dunning (10) and Rita Dow (8). Jake Robbins (9) of Nashua finished as runner-up to Keene’s Nick Ramirez for the 8-9 boys title. Max Coleman (13) of Londonderry had the best day of the competitors, making 23 of his 25 freethrows.

The Southwest District champions will join the champions from the other four regions in the state competition in Plymouth on Feb. 7. State champions will then go on to the New England Elks Regional competition in South Portland, Maine, on March 27.
