Yes, we bring you a rare episode of Thursda Night Football.

We’ve had a few local Thursday games over the last few years, something officials asked athletic directors to try to do when they can to avoid the Friday crunch with an official shortage. Plus different holidays have led to them. Also those end-of-season games in Division I for non-playoff teams are played on Thursdays, not currently on your schedules.

But tonight, it will be a game of significance, as Bishop Guertin will host Exeter at 7 p.m. at Stellos Stadium. Both teams won their season openers in definitive fashion and this is a big non-conference game for both.

Here’s a capsule look:

TONIGHT

EXETER (1-0) at BISHOP GUERTIN (1-0)

WHEN/WHERE: 7 p.m. at Stellos Stadium.

LAST WEEK: Exeter 28, Manchester Memorial 0; Bishop Guertin 42, Nashua North 7.

LAST YEAR: Did not play.

FYI: This will be a night and day test from the opener for the Titans, Exeter with its deceptive T rushing style but don’t think the Blue Hawks won’t throw the ball. Exeter QB Tyler Ream was 9 of 15 for 124 yards and three TDs last Friday. Back Colton Ray caught one of them along with short TD run. But in this matchup, you can bet the Blue Hawks will play keep-away, trying for long, clock-killing drives to keep the ball away from the BG quarterback Nate Bowen-led offense. The hope too for Guertin is heralded receiver Rocco Roy, who missed the opener, can be back for this one.

THE PICK: BG 24, Exeter 21. Go with the home team and a Bowen field goal as the difference.
