MANCHESTER — CHaD Night is upon us.

Yes, the 14th annual CHaD East-West All Star Football Game is set for tonight at 6 p.m. at Saint Anselm College’s Grappoone Stadium.

Locally, there are a ton of players on TeamWest, as well as coaches. Merrimack’s Kip Jackson is the head coach for the second straight year, and local head coaches Robin Bowkett (Souhegan) and Max Morelli (Milford) are on staff, as a host of other Tomahawk assistants, headed by Brandon Lilley.

Team East is coached by Salem’s Steve Abraham, but Alvirne AD/head coach Justin Hufft is an assistant along with Campbell assistant Jack Byrne.

On Team East, the only local players are former Alvirne running back Mike Landmesser and his former Bronco teammate, wide receiver/tight end Quintin Tetreault.

For Team West, it’s a different story.

From Nashua South are receiver Josh Tripp, quarterback Cody Jackson, linemen Kevin Hamel and Trevor Stevens, linebacker Bruno Goncalves, receiver/corner Colvin Levesque and running back Sam Levine.

Nashua North linebacker Jack Krulowski is a captain but unable to play due to rehabbing from knee surgery. North tight end/defensive lineman Denzel Delgado and running back Jedwin Lluveres are also on the roster.

Bishop Guertin has a few players as well. Former Cardinals are receiver Sam Fayad, lineman Aaron Chmielecki, linebacker Jonah Feliciano, and receiver Alex Dolan.

From Merrimack are tight end Zach Retey, running back Shea Scott, receiver Shea Egan and receiver Cayden Dine.

Finally, Souhegan is well represented with running back/linebacker Ryland Raudelunas, receiver/corner Brody Smith , quarterback Michael Fiengo, plus linemen Sean Reardon and Micah Dibble.

TRIPP SET FOR UMASS AMHERST

South’s Tripp is happy as heck to be headed to UMass Amherst in the fall to study and play football.

Tripp was originally set to continue his football career at UNH, but the coaching change thee changed all that. It’s a level up – FBS – but UMass has struggled mightily at that level.

Doesn’t matter.

“I’m so excited,” he said. “I’m just grateful for the opportunity. The thing at UNH was last minute, and I was floundering not knowing what to do and they (the Minutement) gave me the opportunity. They got a lot of new coaches, staff, a lot of new players. It’s going to be a whole new season and I’m excited.”

UMass had early interest, but things cooled, so when they came back to Tripp again, “I was shocked,” he said. They came to school to see him, he went on a visit, and bingo-bango-bongo he was signed, sealed and delivered in March.

“It was out nowhere,” Tripp said.

And now he’ll be playing at the highest level of college football there is. A dream come true.

“It is, definitely,” Tripp said. “When I was younger I didnt even think it was a possibility. But now it’s a reality. It’s crazy.”

JACKSON GLAD TO BE IN THE GAME

Jackson, headed to Western New England, is thrilled to be playing tonight.

“My brother never got a chance to play in this game, and I’m always competing against him,” he said with a grin. “So I get to have that over him.”
