HOLLIS – The Hollis Brookline High School girls soccer team has turned out some extremely talented players over the last few years.

Fittingly, one of them was recognized late this past week when Cassidy Engle was named the New Hampshire Gatorade Girls Soccer 2025-26 Player of the Year.

Engle achored a solid Cavalier defense that took HB to its third straight Division II state title game, with just five goals allowed and 14 shoutouts. Engle tore her ACL in the 1-0 title loss to Bow, but was named Division II All-State Player of the Year in November. She was also a United Soccer Coaches All New England Region player.

“All I can say is I’m thankful I do not have to face Cassidy anymore,” Milford coach Scott Locasto said in the release announcing Engle’s prestigious award. “She was a leader for her team. She reads the game very well, which makes it tough for her opponents to break their back line. She made everyone around her better.”

Pace University obviously agreed, as Engle will play soccer there beginning this fall. She actually has attended the Academy For Science and Design charter school in Nashua, but that allows athletes to still compete for the high schools in the towns in which they reside.

The Gatorade POY award also takes into account off-the field activity. Engle fit that to a T as a Senior Patrol Leader with Scouting America’s Troop 22, and she helped run her area’s Scouting For Food campaign that helps support local food pantries. Engle has volunteered at a local horse farm, donated her time as a local youth coach, and in involved in other community service activities through her church.
