The Bishop Guertin and Pinkerton Academy boys lacrose teams did their part, as they both won in the quarterfnals Saturday to set up a classic Divison I semifinal set for 5 p.m. Wednesday at Manchester Memorial High School.

However, the Cards were the only local in this roundup to have posted a win.

BOYS LACROSSE

DIVISION I QUARTERFINALS

NO.3 BISHOP GUERTIN 14, NO. 6 LONDONDERRY 6

The Cards were trailing 2-1 early then scored 13 of the next 14 goals to put the game at Stellos Stadium completely out of reach.

Sean McGarry had five goals and Cam Hayden four while single scores went to Hudson Schmitt, Zach Fortier, Kevin Salafia, Jack Redfern and Drew Redfern.

Assists on the day went to Fortier, Ryan Baker (two), Hayden, Jack Redfern (three),Tyler McLeod and Cooper Paquette.

“Londonderry is a talented, well-coached team and they came out strong,” Cards coach Brian Cameron said. “After we found our footing, I thought we played realy well.”

NO. 1 BEDFORD 15, NO. 9 NASHUA SOUTH 6

The Panthers certainly gave the Bulldogs the impression they weren’t at Bulldog Stadium to pass the time. However, Bedford has been a different team since Brody Helton returned and got the win.

“The boys played a hard-fought game from the first to the last whistle,” South coach Will Delanoy said. “Effort has never been an issue with this group this year and they made some strides to end out the season.

“We’ll be losing key members of our core, but the younger playes on the team demonsrated throughout the season the ability to step up when necessary and find a role on the team.”

Tyler Benzekri (two goals, assist) and Grant Imbeault (two goals) led the way, while Braedyn Thyne and Brendan Skelley had a goal each. Cody Jackson had an assist, wrapping up a great three-sport South athletic career.

NO. 2 PINKERTON 17, NO. 7 MERRIMACK 3

The Tomahawks season came to an end after the Astros jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead off fast break goals. The Tomahawks did right the ship somewhat, holding Pinkerton to one goal in the third quarter.

Gabe Gorman had two goals for Merrimack while Shea Scott added a goal and an assist and Sean Anderson had an assist. Mason Tremblay had 15 saves and Seamus Hicke three for the ‘Hawks.

DIVISION III QUARTERFINALS

NO. 1 COE-BROWN 12, NO. 8 CAMPBELL 0

The Bears had their way with the Cougars, whose string of Final Four trip ends at three.

Campbell finishes up the season at 8-9 while Coe-Brown will take on No. 4 Hopkinton Thursday night at Bank of NH Stadium in Laconia. Bow and Plymouth play in the other semi.

SOFTBALL

NO. 4 CONVAL 5, NO. 12 CAMPBELL 4

The Cougars certainly didn’t play like a No. 12 seed but fell just short in Peterborough, ending their season at 8-10. ConVal takes on No. 9 Plymouth in the semis at PSU on Tuesday.
