Welcome to Super Saturday, high school spring style.

It’s the busiest day of the spring tournament season, featuring a ton of quarterfinals and one semifinal involving local schools. And oh, there’s also the track and field Meet of Champions.

It starts at 10 a.m.with No.7 Merrimack (10-7) is in Derry vs. No. 2 Pinkerton Academy 15-3). Then in boys lacrosse things shift to Stellos Stadium at 1 p.m. when No. 3 Bishop Guertin (13-5) takes on No. 6 Londonderry (10-7).

Most are thinking it would be a BG, Pinkerton, Bedford and either Dover or Exeter Final Four, but No. 9 Nashua South (9-10) would love to shock the world at No. 1 Bedford (15-3) at 4 p.m. They already surprised some by beating Windham on the road in the prelims.

And to cap it off, No. 8 Campbell (8-8) is at No. 1 Coe Brown (14-0) at 11 a.m. The Cougars have been a Final Four team for the last three years, so they’ll be a tough out.

GIRLS LACROSSE

It’s semifinal time, and that will involve one local team, No. 2 Souhegan (16-1), and at Stellos Stadium to boot. The Sabers will take on No. 3 Pinkerton (14-5) at 4 p.m. They played back on April 27 with the Sabers winning15-4 in Amherst.

BASEBALL

This should be fun. Bishop Guertin was expecting to go to Dover for a Divsion I quarterfinal today but instead at 1 p.m. the No. 5 Cards (15-5) will be able to enjoy the comforts of Historic Holman Stadium and host No. 13 Timberlane (10-11). It won’t be easy, as the Cards beat Timberlane 7-6 at Holman back on May 5. If they win, the Cards would stay right in Nashua for the Division I semis at Holman on Wednesday.

In Division II, there will be a local classic as at 4 p.m. the defending champion No. 8 Souhgan Sabers head to No. 1 Hollis Brookline in the quarters. The Cavs (16-1) have won nine straight, and have beaten the Sabers twice, 4-1 in Amherst and 4-2 at HB. The winner goes to play in the semis at Concord on Wednesday, guaranteeing the area a local team.

SOFTBALL

And then there was one – Campbell. The No. 12 Cougars (8-9) go to Peterborough to play No. 4 ConVal (12-5), a team they have already beaten in Peterborugh a month ago, 5-4. Game time is noon.

BOYS & GIRLS TRACK

Several top local athletes will wind up their in-state season at Oyster River in Durham at 1 p.m. It will be about 40 degrees warmer than it was when the Divison I and II meets were held last Saturday.

BOYS & GIRLS TENNIS

The individual singles tournament takes place today at 9 a.m.as the girls will play at Southern NH University and Manchester Memorial, while the boys will battle at Memorial Field in Concord.
