It’s a local girls lacrosse tourney game that should be great one.

Play it again, Souhegan and Bishop Guertin.

The two teams met in the quarterfinals last year with Souhegan winning, and the No. 2, 15-1 Sabers edged the No. 7, 9-7 Cardinals 8-7 a couple of weeks ago in a fabulous matchup.

They’ll square off in the Division I quarterfinals on Thursday. In the only other quarter involving a local, No. 5 Nashua South (11-6) is at No. 4 Exeter (12-6) on Thursday. The Blue Hawks beat South 16-6 on May 20.

In Division II, there’s two locals, both on the lower half. No. 9 Hollis Brookline (6-10) will be at No. 8 Merrimack Valley (8-6) today, and that could be a good one: HB lost to MV just 13-12 in the season opener back on April 15. The winner goes to Plaistow on Thursday to face No. 1 Timberlane.

Meanwhile, No. 7 Merrimack (10-6) gets a first round bye and in Thursday’s quarters will head to face No. 2 Winnacunnet (15-3). The two teams just played last week in Hampton with the Warriors coming out on top 10-4.

In Division III, Milford won five games and got in and is at Saint Thomas today.

BOYS LACROSSE

In Division I, there will be just one local in a prelim – in fact, the only prelim – as No. 9 Nashua South (8-10) heads to No. 8 Windham (9-7). South was just at the Jags last week, bowing 16-5.

The winner heads to No. 1 Bedford (15-3) on Saturday in the quarterfinals.

And, speaking of the quarters, there will be two locals playing Saturday: No.3 Bishop Guertin (13-5) will be hosting No. 6 Londonderry (10-7) at 1 p.m.at Stellos Stadium, while No. 7 Merrimack (10-7) will be at No. 2 Pinkerton (15-3) at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The Astros beat Merrimack 17-2 early in the season while BG trounced Londonderry 18-5 waaay back in the season opener on April 13.

The two winners of those quarters face each other in the semifinals at Manchester Memorial on June 10.The finals are actually at Stellos Stadium on June 13 at 5 p.m.

In Division II, there is only one local. Look for No. 10 Souhegan (5-11) as the lone qualifier, as the Sabers will be at No. 7 Kingswood (8-8) on Thursday. Kingswood did beat the Sabers 8-2 in Amherst back on May 4. The winner gets No. 2 Derryfield (15-2) on Saturday.

In Division III, No. 8 Campbell (7-8) which won it all two years ago and reached the semis last year, will host No. 9 Gilford (6-8) on Thursday in the prelims, the winner facing No.1 Coe-Brown in Saturday’s quarters.

Campbell lost at Gilford just last week, 11-8, and did not play Coe-Brown.
