The final full schedule day of the 2026 spring regular season (baseball, tennis, lacrosse) mixed with a postseason day (tennis) to make it a full Friday on the local schedule.

Long story short: Some teams seasons ended, others will move on, and the lone area boys tennis team left is Hollis Brookline.

Here’s your final busy Friday of the spring:

GIRLS LACROSSE

NASHUA SOUTH 14, NASHUA NORTH 8

Briley Landsteiner tallied five goals in the Panthers (11-6) win over the Titans (2-10). Carly Benzreki secured her 200th draw control and Emma Herlihy made her 100th career save.

Others helping the South offense were Gemma Williams (three goals), Lexi McGuire (two goals, two assists), Wylie Hart (goal, assist), Benzreki (goal), Isabel Picanco (goal) and Nitzann Alkalay (goal).

Maggie Schmidt and Maddie Langer led the defense. Herlihy and CJ Oro made four and three saves respectively. Hart, Schmidt, Nicole DeJesus Roman, Addie Borden, Lilee Petricca and Kathleen Perry were honored on Senior Night.

BOYS TENNIS TOURNEY

DIVISION I QUARTERINALS

NO. 3 DERRYFIELD 5, NO. 11 NASHUA SOUTH 2

The Panthers did a great job to get to the quarterfinals but fell 5-2 in a rain-shortened match vs. heavily favored Derryfield.

South’s season ends at 6-10.

NO. 1 BEDFORD 9, NO. 8 BISHOP GUERTIN 0

The Cards couldn’t match up with the Bulldogs, but that’s been a familiar thing for Guertin and a lot of other teams over the years.

BG ends an otherwise successful season at 9-7.

DIVISION II QUARTERFINALS

NO. 2 HOLLIS BROOKLINE 8, NO. 10 SOUHEGAN 1.

The Cavaliers move on to Tuesday’s semifinals as they swept singles at Longfellow Tennis Club in Nashua.

Winners were Arjun Inakollu (9-7), John Torpey (8-4), Sam Anthony (8-5), Sam Pistor (8-0), Geyso McSeveney (8-1) and Eli Mazola (8-1).

Souhegan’s duo of Brian Goddard/Parker Schade won at No. 1 doubles 8-1, bu the Cavs took No. 2 with Torpey/Pistor (4-1,walkover) and McSeveney/Mazzola at No.3 (8-0).

HB will now play No. 3 Bow in the semis on Tuesday at Nashua North while the Sabers season ends at 6-10, but with a tourney win. HB has played its home matches indoors at Longfellow but this match will be held at North,weather permitting,in an effort to keep the matches in later rounds outdoors.

NO. 4 PORTSMOUTH 9, NO. 5 MERRIMACK 0

The Tomahawks’ (9-6) good season came to an abrubt end on the seacoast in a sweep. The closest singles match was played by Jeremy Nigen at No. 4 (8-6) and the ‘Hawks No.1 doubles team of Mikhail Agapov/Nithin Sathappan bowed by an 8-4 score.

BASEBALL

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 12, LEBANON 0

The Cavs (16-1) got on the board in the top of the first inning after Connor Gryniewicz singled, scoring one run, Renzo Bergskaug singled, scoring two runs and Jordan Morelli hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. HB added four more runs in the top of the fifth inning on five hits. Marco Bergskaug singled, scoring one run, Keenan Myers grounded out, scoring one run and Thomas Howie homered to left field, scoring two runs. Gryniewicz earned the win giving up four hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out nine and walking none. The locals collected 11 hits on the day. HB earned the No. 1 seed in the NHIAA tournament and a first round bye.

CAMPBELL 13, SOMERSWORTH 3

The Cougars (10-6) used a five run first inning to boost them to a dominant win. Brady Marcotte led the offense driving in four runs, including a bases clearing triple in the fourth. Braydon White and Aidan Kepple each collected two hits, while Adam Correau added two RBIs. Kepple earned the win allowing two earned runs over six innings.

SOFTBALL

NASHUA SOUTH 7, MANCHESTER CENTRAL-MEMORIAL 4

Cate Marvin struck out 14 batters in the Panthers win on Friday. Leading the offense were Cara Leblond (four hits, two stolen bases), Maliyah Richer-Valentin (two hits, double, RBI), Brooke Berger (two RBIs) and Mia Estremera (two RBIs). South finishes the season with a 6-12 record.

LEBANON 16, HOLLIS BROOKLINE 4

The Cavs (1-14) season comes to an end with a loss to Lebanon. Jenna O’Connor, Kendall Dunn (RBI), Brooklyn Olszewski and Madelyn Sinclair each had a hit. Olszewski allowed nine runs (eight earned) on five hits and struck out three in three innings.

BOYS LACROSSE

SOUHEGAN 12, ALVIRNE 2

Judd Harris tallied a hat trick in the Sabers (5-11) decisive win over the Broncos (0-16). Rob Goodhue, Colin Yeaton and Nate Hill (assist) collected two goals apiece with Sean Reardon making nine saves. Edgar Smith and josh Dryer each scored a goal for Alvirne.

TIMBERLANE 14, HOLLIS BROOKLINE 12

Mike O’Hearn and Sam Petrella each scored five goals and an assist in the Cavs (5-12) win. Bennett Torgersen and Oliver Spencer added to the offense with one goal apiece. Levin Mitchell made 14 saves.
