As we get into the heart/home stretch of the spring sports season, this week The Telegraph is honoring the student athletes for their 2025-26 winter season accomplishments.

WRESTLER OF THE YEAR

BENNY BYRNE, Nashua South

Byrne repeated his state championship at 157 pounds as well as winning the Division I title at the same weight, in a season where there were many local talented wrestlers who accomplished a lot. In additon, Byrne he won the New (Hampshire Wrestling Officials Association (NHOWA) Sportsmanship Award, as well as the Perruccio Scholarship Award, also from the NHOWA, worth $2,000.
