It’s May’s first week, and that means Battle of the Bridge

NASHUA – It’s the first week of May, so it must be that time: Battle of the Bridge Week.

Yes, Nashua High School North and South will compete against each other this week in a variety of sports. In fact, they really started the competition three weeks ago when the North and South boys and girls track teams faced each other, South coming out on top in both meets for a 2-0 lead.

The Battle resumes on Tuesday at Nashua North with Unified Track at 3 p.m.

The busiest day is Wednesday with tennis and lacrosse. At Nashua South, girls JV lacrosse will be at 3 p.m. and boys varsity tennis at 4 p.m. At Nashua North, JV boys lacrosse at 3 and girls varsity tennis at 4 p.m.

At Stellos Stadium, the varsity lacrosse doubleheader will be held, with the girls at 4 p.m. and the boys at 6 p.m. The boys game will also be the Monsen Cup Game, the teams playing for the trophy in honor of late Nashua South coach Bill Monsen.

The baseball teams will get into the action on Friday at Holman Stadium, with the JVs playing at 3:30 and the varsity at 7 p.m.

Then the Battle of the Bridge will spill into the next week, winding up with the North-South varsity softball game on Tuesday May 12 at Rivier University’s Raider Diamond at 7 p.m.
