HS Roundup: BG girls lax tops Concord; Merrimack softball edged by Astros

This time Tuesday felt like school vacation week.

There were only a couple of local high school games on the docket, so let’s take a look:

GIRLS LACROSSE

BISHOP GUERTIN 8, CONCORD 3

The Cards Charlotte Accomando had four goals while Lola Dumont added two as the Cards improved to 5-2.

Bella Dawson (goal, assist) and Mia Yakubof addd a goal.

On Monday, the Cards rolled over St. Thomas of Dover 20-10, led by an incredible 11 goals by Lola Dumont, who also got her 100th career draw control as one of her 15 that day.

Kayle Cruikshank (two goals, three assists), Accomando (two goals, two assists), Bella Dawson and Camryn Leighton (two goals each), and McKensey Roedel (a goal) also helped out.

Sophia Harrington (three ground balls, one draw control) plus Emma Smith (six saves in goal) played well.

Now winners of four straight, the Cards head to face Portsmouth (R.I.) on Thursday at 6 p.m.

SOFTBALL

PINKERTON 2, MERRIMACK 1 (9 innings)

The Tomahawks (5-2) lost a heartbreaker, as Marissa Nelson allowed just one earned run on eight hits over nine in the loss.

Katie Coolidge, Bayleigh Robishaud, Allia Wyand and Nelson all had hits.

Merrimack is at Keene on Friday.
