HS Roundup: Only South baseball survives Holman event

It was a day of baseball at Holman Stadium on Saturday, and for all but one local team in the four-game extravaganza, it was a tough day.
Only Nashua South got a win, while Nashua North, Bishop Guertin and Souhegan all fell.
Here’s a look:
BASEBALL
NASHUA SOUTH 1, PINKERTON 0
Brendon Doughty pitched a complete gme gem, and the Panthers made the most of their only run at Holman Stadium.
Jack Ninteau started the game with a double on the first pitch, was bunted to third and Ryan Caruso plated him with a sac fly.
SALEM 11, NASHUA NORTH 0
The Titans dropped to 1-5 despite hits by Zach Fisher, Nolan Sullivan and Jake Munroe.
North will be back at Holman Monday at 10 a.m. vs. Alvirne.
DOVER 13, BISHOP GUERTIN 0
The Cardinals managed just one hit and dug a whole with free passes and defensive miscues in the final game of the Holman quadrupleheader, falling to 3-4.
CONCORD 6, SOUHEGAN 5
The Sabers suffered a tough one-run loss, bowing to the Tide in an inter-divisional contest to fall to 3-2. Concord was the only team to beat the Sabers last season.
Souhegan is at Coe-Brown on Monday.
SOFTBALL
MERRIMACK 13, MANCHESTER CENTRAL-WEST 1
Cam Bellen got the win with four innings of work, allowing two hits and one run, and also led the team offensively with four hits and five RBIs.
Katie Coolidge added three hits and three RBI’s, Ashley Senecal, Marisa Nelson each had two hits and Allie Wyand, Bayleigh Robichaud and Olivia Burke all had hits in the win.
The Tomahawks play Pinkerton at home on Tuesday.
BOYS TENNIS
BISHOP GUERTIN 9, SPAULDING 0
The Cards rolled in Rochester, losing just four games. Singles wins were by Jack Kostansek (8-1), Evan Deyak (8-0), Jonny Perrott (8-1), Max Moynihan (8-1)Maxx Lizotte (8-0), and Jaxon Deyak (8-0).
The doubls teams of Kostansek/Evan Deyak (8-0), Andre Steinruck/Tan (8-2) and Ted Bond/Ben Mathson (8-3) all won.
