NASHUA – The Nashua High School boys and girls track teams have gotten off to a great start this spring.
It got even better on Monday, as the Panthers laid claim to a city crown.
In an early-season tri-meet with rivals Nashua North and Bishop Guertin at South’s Fran Tate Track, the both the boys and girls teams prevailed. The South boys finished first with 92.50 points, ahead of North (70.50) and Bishop Guertin (18).
Meanwhile, the Panther girls totaled 80.50, with North second at 61.50 and BG third at 30.
Here are the event winners and other highlights:
BOYS MEET
Preston Bois was a quadruple winner. taking the 110 hurdles (15.56), 300 hurdles (44.33), pole vault (14-0) and triple jump (43-3.50).
Isaiah Rodriguez in the 1600 (4:43.15), and Lincoln O’Brien in the 3200 (11:34.79) also won.
South took both relays as its 4×100 relay team of Ethan Reeves, Jayden Toussaint, Robert Sanche and Jeremiah Agbo won in 46.36; the 4×400 team of Andrew Thibeault, Rodriguez, Sriam Vanga and Matthew Motherway won in 3:43.76.
South’s Collin Langer won the discus (138-1) and Sawyer Penny won the javelin at 166-4.
For North, Kobe Perry captured the 100 in 11.17, Jesus Almonte won the 400 (55.55), Alex Pichardo the 800 (2:11.17), Gavin Suchecki the 200 (23.08) plus the high jump (5-11). Yaxiel Vazquez took the long jump (18-4).
Dominick Coffie won the shot put (44-6.75)
BG got seconds from Jack Mello in the 200, Jason Gremm in the long jump and Sam Woodward in the Javelin.

GIRLS MEET
South winners included Camrin Ayi in the 100 (13.05), Nina Somorrostro in the 1600 (6:14.33), Kiera Fischer in the 3200 (15:34.18) and Emma Millette in the pole vault (9-6). Vanezza Ortiz Cuevas won the discus (101-10) and was second in the shot put, and Caroline Kelly won the javelin as the Panthers took the top three spots.
North had plenty of winners as well. For the Titans, Rosie Neveu won the 400 (59.61), Allie Frye took the 300 hurdles (46.91), Abigail Azevedo took the 200 (25.88) and the high jump (4-11), Allie Dandeneau in the long jump (15-6.50), Sarah Frye in the triple jump (33-7.75),
North won both relays: the 4×100 relay (Allie and Sarah Frye, Allie Dandeneau, Charlotte Wilson) in 52.04; and the 4×400 (Wilson, Allie Frye,Azevedo, Neveu) in 4:05.80.
Bishop Guertin’s Bridget Powers won the 100 hurdles in 17.60, was second in the pole vault; Zoe Coler captured the 800 (2:23.95) and Noelle Gauthier took the shot put in 29-9.50.
