HS TENNIS ROUNDUP: Panthers soar, HB boys, Saber girls roll

Tennis anyone? No one would have said no on Friday with the best weather of the early season thus far, and the Nashua High School South Panthers took advantage with boys and girls wins.
Hollis Brookline also had double wins while Bishop Guertin had tough but competitive losses vs. old nemesis Bedford.
Here are those and more on the last day when tennis is king, as the other sports begin on Monday:
BOYS TENNIS
NASHUA SOUTH 9, MANCHESTER MEMORIAL 0
South, now 2-0, had a clean sweep, starting with singles wins by Ayaan Chalishazar (8-5), Jerry Primo (8-1), Sean Hall (8-2), Akash Kumar (8-5), Pranev Udayakumar (8-2), and Ishan Chalishazar (8-5). In doubles, Ayaan Chalishazar/Primo won 8-2, then South subbed in as the tandems of Daniel Jacob/Hal Newbold and Samarth Sharma/Divyesh Gaddam both won 8-2.
BEDFORD 7, BISHOP GUERTIN 2
The Cards competed but fell short, getting singles wins by Max Moynihan at No. 4 (9-8, 7-4) and Jaxon Deyak at No. 6 (8-6). Jonny Perrott and Maxx Lizotte played tough in a pair of 8-5 defeats.
MERRIMACK 9, ALVIRNE 0
The Tomahawks are off to a 2-0 start while Alvirne has struggled at 0-3. Tomahawk winners were Mikhail Agapo (8-5), Leon Rossman (8-0), Nithin Sathappan (8-0) Jeremy Nigen (8-0), Drew Bergen (8-5) and Patrick Maclsaac (8-1). The Merrimack doubles teams of Agapov/Sathappan (8-3), Rossman/Nigen (8-0) and Bergen/Maclsaac (8-3) all won.
Alvrne’s Sam Hergenhahn at No.1 and Owen Nagle at No. 5 had close matches.
HOLLIS BROOKLINE 9, LEBANON 0
The Cavaliers (3-0) flexed their muscles again with a rare clean sweep of the Raiders. Singles winners were Arjun Inakollu (8-0), John Torpey (8-0), Samuel Anthony (8-0), Samuel Pistor (8-0), Greyson McSeveney (8-4) and Eli Mazzola (8-2).
The doubles teams of Inakollu/Anthony (8-0), Torpey/Pistor (8-4) and Mazzola/McSeeney (8-6) completed the sweep.
OYSTER RIVER 5, SOUHEGAN 4
It’s been a tough opening week for the Sabers (0-3), but Friday was their best match. Winners included Brian Goddard at No. 1 singles (9-7), Brock Keener at No. 4 (8-6), Goddard/Parker Schade at No.1 doubles (8-3) and Patrick Bryson/Keener at No. 2 (8-3).
GIRLS TENNIS
NASHUA SOUTH 8, MANCHESTER MEMORIAL 1
The Panthers lost just nine games over the first eight matches. The swept singles with Piya Chokshi (8-0), Krina Dani (8-1), Riya Shroff, Ananya Arun, Nikhi Matta (all 8-0) and Soha Patel (8-3) all winning.
They took the top two doubles matches behind Vidhi Pawar and Soha Patel (8-3) and Annika Garimella/Zeynep Demirdag (8-2).
ALVIRNE 7, MERRMACK 2
The Bronos clinched things in singles with wins one through five by Lilliana Belmore (8-3), Ella Proulx (8-6), Samantha Schiller (8-2), Aliana Girux (8-1) and Nora Lesmenses (8-1)
Schiller/Girux (8-3) and Lesmenses/Ava Gagnon (8-0) won at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles.
Merrimack’s lone singles win was by Cassidy Callahan at No. 6 (8-5) and the top doubles team of Avary Cruz/Stella Tomaselli (9-7)
HOLLIS BROOKLINE 5, TIMBERLANE 4
Anna Heiplik and Max Walsh got the clinching point at No. 1 doubles, 8-2, after the Cavs took four of six singles. Singles winners included Heiplik at No.1 (8-2), Walsh rallying at No. 2, 9-7, Carlie Holt at No. 3 (8-4) and Bianca Campanella at No. 6, 8-4.
HB is at Pembroke on Monday.
SOUHEGAN 9, PEMBROKE 0
The Sabers cruised in their home opener with wins Callie Perrin (8-1), Ori Dart (8-6), Sophia Yates (8-2), Emma Perrin (8-2), Mari Dart (8-0) and Elli Brower (9-7). In doubles, it was Emma Perrin/Ori Dart (8-2), Brower/Mari Dart and Yates/Lili Helfand (both 8-1).
