HS Roundup: North boys sixth in Division I swimming; BG, Admirals win on ice

The Nashua North boys and Bishop Guertin girls were the top local teams in the Division I swimming meet at UNH on Saturday, leading the day’s results as we also add some hockey and wrestling:

BOYS SWIMMING

NORTH BOYS SIXTH IN STATES

The Titans totaled 100, four points ahead of seventh place Portsmouth and just 15 behind Dover in a bid for the top five. Bedford (297) was far and away the winner, ahead of second place Pinkerton (154). Nashua South (51) was 10th, Bishop Guertin 11th (40), and Alvirne 13th (26)

Titan Dawson Bolton captured the diving title with 315.70 points, ahead of Nashua South’s Likhith Bavisetti (213.95).

North’s 200 medley relay team of Tom and Jack White, Luke Frenette and Dawson Bolton were sixth in 1:53.80.

Jack White was second in the 200 IM (2:01.02) and third in the 100 Back (56.06). Tom White was sixth in the 200 free (1:58.97)

The Titans’ 400 Free Relay team of both Whites, Frenette and Bolton were third in 3:51.01.

Nashua South’s 200 Free Relay team of Ayaan Parmar, Nate Perry, Cole DeHoyos and Chris Jansen was eighth in 1:48.13. Pratham Mukewar, Parmar, DeHoyos and Jaynt Angadi were seventh in the 400 Free Relay in 4:07.52

Bishop Guertin’s Kyle Dos Santos was fourth in the 100 Breast (1:05.13) seventh in 1:59.19 in the 200 Free while the Cards’ Dominic Calvanese was seventh in the 100 Fy in 54.66.

Alvirne’s Steve Pollard (55.00) was second in the 100 Free as well as the 100 Back (55.89).

GIRLS SWIMMING

BG EIGHTH IN DIVISION I

The Cards totaled 76 points in the title meet won by Bedford (301). Nashua North was 10th with 45 points just ahead of South at 42. Alvirne was 13th with 18 and Merrimack 15th with 10.

Guertin was eighth in the 200 Medley relay with Addison Wilson, Nicolette Carlton, Vivian Carlton and Elise Kenny combining for 2:09.03.

Carlton was second in diving at 346.60 while teammate Bellarose Huber was sixth at 275.45. Carlton was also second in the 100 Fly in 1:01.05 and fourth in the 500 Free in 5:35.38.

BG’s 200 Free Relay team of Elise Kenny, Wilson, Nicolette and Vivian Carlton was fifth in 1:53.45.

Nashua North was led by Anya Seo, sixth in the 200 Free (2:06.74) and 500 free (5:41.06). Kaylee Hall was fourth in diving at 316.10, and Savanna Basford fifth with 278.85.

Nashua South’s Teresa Mathew was sixth in the 50 Free in 26.71 while Elise Goyette was seventh and Sierra Artur eighth in diving. The Panthers’ 200 Free Relay team of Keegan Dolan, Natasha Mallya, Mara Grigas-Lewis and Mathew was eighth in 1:55.16.

The state Dive champion is Alvirne’s Auri Anderson with a whopping 365.95 points.

Merrimack’s Grace Massey was seventh in 1:07.56.

BOYS HOCKEY

BISHOP GUERTIN 2, LONDONDERRY 1

Jordan O’Hearn scored both goals for BG, including the game winner with 6.3 seconds left. Gavin Santos and Dom Trepanier had the assists as the Cards improved to 8-4. BG hosts Pinkerton at Skate 3 on Monday.

HANOVER 4, NASHUA NORTH-SOUTH 2

The Knights hung with the 7-6 Bears throughout despite being outshot 41-24, getting goals by Brendon Doughty and Jack Russin-Morgan. Braedyn Thyne had two assists and Jared Gauthier one for the locals, now 3-11.

Tony Venezia was busy in the Knights goal with 36 saves. Nashua is at Merrimack-Hollis Brookline-Derryfield on Wednesday night at West Side Arena.

ALVIRNE-MILFORD 5, LEBANON-STEVENS-MASCOMA 2

Brandon Ganas, who recently set the Admirals career scoring mark, eclipesed the career 100-point plateau with two goals and an assist. He now has 102 points over three years in the program.

Luke Green also had two goals and an assist while Dylan MacLeod had A-M’s other goal. Others with assists were Mason Tomkins, Riley McCarthy, Landon Briand and Wyatt Pepin. Briand, a senior defenseman, meanwhile, hit the career 50 point mark.

Goalies Ari Scarbo and Mason Komarek split time in goal for the win.

The Admirals are at first place Goffstown Wednesday at Sullivan Arena.

KEENE 6, MHBDS 0

The WarHawks couldn’t muster any offense and are now 7-7-1. They host the Nashua Knights on Wednesday.

WRESTLING

LOCALS AT CAVALIER CLASSIC

A series of dual meets involving 14 teams at Hollis Brookline was the final regular season event locally.

The Cavs had a busy day with three duals beating ConVal 66-17, Mascenic 83-0, and Raymond 72-12.

HB winners included Kyle Leclair, Michael Marsolini (two), Victor Lomme (two), Hunter Knight (two), Nathan Fauteux (two), Will Crawford (two), Oliver Damon (three) Jacob Critchfield (two), Scout Crea (two), Dylan Orr, Cameron Nichols, Gabriel McGrath and Harrison Holmes.

Alvirne fell to Winnisquam 46-27. Bronco winners included Noah Gendreau at 175, Joseph Lydon (190), Marcus Bain (215), Amre Antilus (285). Mason Verrocchio (106), and Crue Anderson (113).
