HS Roundup: North boys, BG and HB girls lead win parade

It was a pretty good night for local high school teams with a couple of bumps in the road. Big wins for Nashua North boys, Nashua South girls, Bishop Guertin girls, Hollis Brookline girls, and both Souhegan teams. Tough losses for the Nashua South boys and BG girls hockey.

Here’s the complete rundown:

NASHUA NORTH 73, SALEM 70

The Titans (6-9) squeeze by the Blue Devils at home on Friday night. Josh Sullivan pace the offense with 16 points, Connor Johnston scored 13, Evan Linscott added 12 and Andre Kargbo and Tyson Hoang each had 11.

North visits Londonderry on Tuesday.

DOVER 81, NASHUA SOUTH 77

The Panthers (8-7) four game winning comes to an end as they fell to the Green Wave on the road. Daniel Karavanic and Francisco Rodriguez each had a phenomenal night scoring 28 points apiece, while Shane Lemire added 15.

South hosts Winnacunnet on Tuesday.

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 63,LACONIA 43

The Cavaliers’ season-long roll continues as they led 16-12 after one then opened up a 30-18 halftime lead.

James Arthur had a huge night with 30 points while Renzo Bergskaug 11 points, and Ben LeClerc added nine. Dylan Kelley paced things defensively. HB goes for No.16 on Tuesday,hosting Lebanon.

MILFORD 57, CONVAL 35

Ben Emerson collected 22 points in the Spartans (6-8) dominant win over ConVal. Tyler Constable and Jack Bonafilla scored 10 and nine points respectively.

Milford hosts Manchester West on Tuesday.

SOUHEGAN 70, KENNETT 55

The Sabers got 24 points by Wes Hickman in evening their record at 7-7. Sean Zerega added 14 and Jon Bausha had 12.

Souhegan is at Plymouth on Monday.

CAMPBELL 64, MONADNOCK 54

Jayden Medina could not be stopped as he scored 20 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in the Cougars win. Nate Federico collected 17 points and three assists and Jeremy Rafuse recorded 12 points and nine rebounds. Campbell finishes the regular season with a record of 8-9.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

BISHOP GUERTIN 66, CONCORD 23

Hailey McGowan had a phenomenal night by collecting 29 points in the Cardinals (8-7) road win. Thalia Drapeau and Kayden Rioux scored nine and eight points respectively.

BG hosts Keene on Tuesday.

NASHUA SOUTH 62, DOVER 42

Nicole DeJesus racked up 22 points to help the Panthers (13-3) win their fourth straight game. Brooke Berger scored 10 and Maggie Gallagher had nine. South visits Winnacunnet on Tuesday.

ALVIRNE 57, MERRIMACK 36

The Broncos (4-9) had a great night on both sides of the court resulting in a decisive win over the Tomahawks (3-12). Leading the way for Alvirne were Julia Adams (14 points), Alexis Floyd (13 points), Haylie Christman (nine points), Taylor Small (eight points) and Ochanya Adikwu (eight points). Merrimack’s Meghan McCarthy and Avary Cruz tallied 13 points each.

Alvirne visits Dover and Merrimack hosts Concord on Tuesday.

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 56, LACONIA 23

Ana O’Donnell (15 points) and Samantha Disco (14 points) paced the Cavs (10-4) offense as they win their seventh straight game. HB held their opponents scoreless in the third quarter with Disco, Brooke Bouchard and Ainslee Thompson leading the press.

HB visits Lebanon on Tuesday.

SOUHEGAN 66, KENNETT 26

The Sabers (9-5) jumped out to a 30-6 first quarter lead and never looked back. Nayaa Dineshkumar stacked the stat sheet with 18 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks. Lanai Hickman scored 12 points and Julia Skelton tallied 10 points and six steals. Souhegan hosts Plymouth on Monday.

MILFORD 44, CONVAL 30

The Spartans (6-8) saw eight different scorers in their win over ConVal. Shea Hansen had a team high 13 points, Lexi Bausha added eight and both Kaelyn Gryzb and Trinity Millner had seven apiece. Haley Harrington and Maggie Pelletier played strong defensively. Milford visits Derryfield on Tuesday.

MONADNOCK 62, CAMPBELL 41

The Cougars (6-11) fall on the road to a stout Monadnock squad. Playing well for Campbell was Zoe Bourque with 23 points, Katie Fluet with eight points, 10 boards and 11 blocks and Mikayla Swanson added five points. Campbell enters the playoffs in the 14th position.

GIRLS HOCKEY

ST. THOMAS 8, BISHOP GUERTIN 5

The Cardinals (3-11) couldn’t keep pace with St. Thomas on Friday night resulting in another loss. Lilah Katz (two goals, assist), Grace Spengler (goal), Haley Gagne (goal), Carly Green (goal) and Ari Piascik (two assists) played well in the loss. BG hosts Hanover on Monday.
