HS Roundup: Bronco girls top Spaulding, Campbell falls to Raymond
It was splitsville on a light night on the local high school girls hoop front: Alvirne girls basketball up, Campbell down. On the boys side, another Hollis Brookline blowout:
GIRLS BASKETBALL
ALVIRNE 48, SPAULDING 38
The host Broncos improved to 3-9 as Lexi Floyd pumped in 17 points while the Bronco defense held the 2-13 Red Raiders to just six points in the final quarter. Floyd scored six of Alvirne’s nine points in the period.
Haylie Christman added eight for the Broncos, who led 30-17 at the half before Spaulding closed things to 39-32 after three.
Alvirne hosts Merrimack tonight.
RAYMOND 54, CAMPBELL 34
The Cougars fell to 6-10 after struggling against a good Raymond squad.
Zoe Bourque had 10 points and two steals while Mikayla Swanson (nine points, five rebounds) and Katie Fluet (eight points, six rebounds) also played well.
The Cougars wrap up the regular season tonight at Monadnock before hitting the road again in the first round of the Division III tourney next Wednesday.
BOYS BASKETBALL
HOLLIS BROOKLINE 77, KINGSWOOD 33
James Arthur had 17 points while Marco Bergskaug tallied 15 and Alton Williams 12 points with stellar defense. The 14-0 Cavs were set to head to Laconia tonight.
