NHIAA DIVISION I TRACK: Bronco boys distant second, North girls relay team wins

The good news is the Alvirne Broncos finished second in the NHIAA Division I indoor track and field championships at Plymouth State on Sunday.
The bad is the Broncos at 33 points were 98 behind overwhelming champion Pinkerton (131) while Nashua North was third at 31.The Titans edged out Bishop Guertin for fourth at 29. Merrimack (15) was ninth, and Nashua South 12th (14).
Exeter was the girls champ with 126 points, well ahead of Pinkerton’s 54. Locally, Nashua North was tied for sixth with Manchester Central (26), while BG was eighth (14). South was 13th with eight and Alvirne 16 with one.
DIVISION I BOYS
Alvirne’s Joey Marcotte took second in the long jump at 21-8.25, as did Charles Barrett in the shot put at 46-9.5 Marcotte also was second in the 55 hurdles in 7.70 Jaden Taylor took sixth in the 300 in 36.99. Finally for the Broncos, the 4×200 relay team of Michael Landmesser, Marcotte, Taylor and Shane Plumley was second in 1:32.72.
For North, its 4×400 foursome of Yaxiel Vazquez, Ryan Hutchins, Sam Nardone and Gavin Suchecki took second in 3:33.5
Jose Marcano was third in the shot put at 46-2.75. Kobe Perry was fifth in the 55 dash in 6.63. Bunhour Chea was fourth in the 1000 in 2:38.33. Cole Burns was sixth in the 1500 in 4:18.68.
Bishop Guertin’s Ethan Fischer ended up in second in the 3000 in 8:36.61 and third in the 1500 in 4:12.89. BG’s Sam Prescott was third in the 600 in 1:24.27. The Cards relay team of Liam Ireland, Will Moores, Tyler Parshay, Jack Mello were sixth in 3:41.94.
Merrimack’s Austin Cassetty was sixth in the long jump at 20-10. The ‘Hawks 4×200 relay crew of Christian Daigneault, Landon LeBlanc, Cassetty, Stephen Doyle and Shane Staskiewicz was fourth.
Nashua South’s Ray Karuru was fourt in the long jump in 45-10.5. Preston Bois was fifth in the long jump at 11.50 and the same in the 55 hurdles in 8.00. Ryan Jansen was fifth in the 300 in 36.88. South’s 4×400 relay team of Ryan Jansen, Isaiah Rodriguez, Matthew Motherway and Sergio Lopez took fifth in 3:41.84.
DIVISION I GIRLS
The Titans have themselves a state championship 4×400 relay team as the foursome of Charlotte Wilson, Allison Frye, Abigail Azevedo and Rosie Neveu were first in 4:06.10.
The Titans’ 4×200 relay team took third in 1:49.55: Allie Dandeneau, Azevedo, Neveu and Alli Frye.
Neveu was fourth in the 600 in 1:39.14.
Bishop Guertin’s Zoe Coler (10.54.41) and Lyla Masson (11:00.81) were five-six in the 3000 run. The Cards’ Anna Sinclair was fourth in the 1000 in 3:07.38.
Nashua South’s Diamond Perry took fourth in the long jump and Emma Millette was fifth, 16-11 and 16-7.5 respectively. Perry was fourth in the 55 dash in 7.56.
Alvirne’s Olivia Cartagena was sixth in the 1500 in 5:11.32.
