HS Roundup: Big night for North’s King, plus Knights hockey
Wednesday was a good night for local teams, but an extra special night for Nashua North’s girls basketball standout Angie King who celebrated her Senior Night in a special way.
Here’s a look at that plus a big win by Nashua North-South hockey, and much more:
GIRLS BASKETBALL
NASHUA NORTH 60, ALVIRNE 36
Angie King had 27 points on a whopping nine 3-pointers. Alaina Small added 16 points while Madelyn Tino and Lily Small played well defensively.
BOYS HOCKEY
NASHUA KNIGHTS 4, PORTSMOUTH-NEWMARKET 0
The Knights got their second shutout of Portsmouth-Nemarket on goals by Callen Cullity, Conor Prunier, Jacoby Caissie and David Ramalho. Brendon Doughty and Bryce Stuart had assists as the Knights jumped out to a .
Brendon Reudt vonCollenberg earned the shutout in net.
They have a week to enjoy it, at Londonderry next Wednesday.
ST. THOMAS 4, ALVIRNE-MILFORD 3
The Admirals gave up two goals in the final 2:11, negating a two-goal effort by Luke Green while Brandon Ganas had a goal and an assist.
Their seven game win streak snapped, A-M is now 8-3 and will be at Oyster River on Saturday.
WRESTLING
CONCORD 68, NASHUA SOUTH 9
The Panthers managed just a pin by Aarush Dutta at 120 and Benny Byrne’s 6-2 decision at 157.
MERRIMACK 42, MANCHESTER WEST 36
The Tomahawks enjoye pins by Owen Sayball at 138, Nathan Cui at 165, Nicolin Stevens at 175, and Carter Anderson at 190 in securing the win.
MILFORD 36, SOUHEGAN 33
The Spartans pulled out a close win in a battle between two Division II contenders. Milford got a forfeit at 190 that was worth six points and evidently the difference.
Winners for the Spartans were Colton Schuseter (pin) at 113, Nathan Stout at 120 (9-5 decision), Max Hammerstrom at 126 (15-0 tech fall), Phillip Wright at 157 (pin), Jack Clancy at 175 (10-1 major decision) and Brandon Leeman at 215 (pin).
Souhegan winners were Kyle Sukcharoenphon at 106 (tech fall 16-0), Jack Kaler at 132 (9-6 decision), Landon Carson (tech fall 23-4) at 138, Chase Knuckles at 144 (tech fall 23-5), Patrick Casey at 165 (13-7), Alex Sarfde at 150 (pin) and Gabe Holt at 285 (pin).
SKIING
NEVEU SECOND IN TWO RACES
Rosalie Neveu finished second for Nashua North in a co-ed meet with Londonderry as the host at Mount Sunapee. Her Titan teammate, Trina Neveu, was fourth in the GS and fifth in the Slalom. Thus it was no surprise the Titan girls as a team were second in both the GS and Salom.
In the boys race, Tommy Crook was second in the Giant Slalom for Nashua South. The North Boys were fourth in the meet in the slalom, led by Hunter Sullivan and Max L’Italien.
South was right behind with Logan Giltz at 29 and Pragnya Aeron at 37.
