PURPLE POOL: South captures boys, girls Battle of Bridge

NASHUA — The pool water at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua had a Purple tint to it on Sunday.
Thats because the boys and girls swimmers from Nashua High School South bested city rivals Nashua North in the Battle of the Bridge. The boys pulled off a 78-51 win while the South girls bested the Titans 93-53.
The Panther girls had 8 golds to North’s 4, 5-4 edge in silvers and the teams were 4-4 in bronze (third place) finishes.
The difference in the boys meet? South had seven thirds to North’s zero (7-0) after a 6-5 Panther gold edge and the teams were even 4-4 in silver.
In the girls meet, South won the 200 medley relay as the foursome of Keegan Dolan, Anjali Penumatsa, Mara Grigas-Lewis and Teresa Mathew finished wth a time of 2:18.85.
Dolan won the 200 IM in 2:46.11 (the Titans did not compete in this), while South’s Teresa Mathew took the 50 free in 27.75 and the 100 free in 1:03.87. Mara Grigas-Lewis won the 100 Fly in 1:16.22. South’s 200 free relay team of Dolan, Natasha Mallya, Mara Grigas-Lewis and Mathew won in 2:03.72.
The other South wins were Natasha Mallya in the 100 back (1:25.71), Anjali Penumatsa in the 100 breast (1:32.56)
North’s Maddie Grigas-Lewis was the only competitor in the 500 free (6:49.84)
North’s Kaylee Hall won diving with 198.25 points, and the Titan 400 Free Relay team of Anya Seo, Gabi Desjardins, Ariany Cora-Salas and Maddie Grigas-Lewis swam unopposed in 5:08.89. Seo also was not opposed in taking the 200 free in 2:13.33.
In the boys meet, Souths Christopher Jansen won the 50 free in 25.71 and the 100 fly in 1:08.40. Cole DeHoyos won the 500 free in 6:10.52.
The foursome of Nathan Perry, Jayant Angadi, Jansen and DeHoyos took the 200 Free in 1:53.35. Pratham Mukewar won the 100 Breast in 1:20.92, and the Panthers took the 400 free relay with the foursome of Ayaan Parmar, Perry, Sebastian Woodward and Mukewar posting a time of 4:31.37.
North was paced by Tom and Jack White. They teamed up with Luke Frenette and Dawson Bolton in taking the 200 Medley Relay in 2:00.85.
Jack White was unopposed for a win in the 200 IM (2:09.00) and took the 100 free in 54.29.
North’s Grant Jones won the 200 Free unopposed in 2:32.86, while Dawson Bolton won the diving with 170.90 points.
