HS Roundup: North skis its way to evening Battle of Bridge

The Nashua High School North ski teams came through to even the Batte of the Bridge at 2-2 with boys and girls wins over rival Nashua South on Monday at Pat’s Peak.

In the boys meet, Nashua South’s Tommy Crook was the winner in 43.62, but Nashua North took the next six spots for a 390-382 win. Scoring for North Max L’Italien (49.19), Finn Larney(50.18), Hunter Sullivan (52.05) and Jimmy Lombardi (52.58). South’s other scorers were Akhil Brommisetty in eighth (1:04.40), Pragnya Aeron ninth (1:06.96) and Aaditya Pawar 10th (1:42.59).

The Titans also won the girls race as the Panthers had just one skier, Vera Scarpati who took fourth in 55.35. North’s scorers were winner Rosalie Neveu (45.01), Sam Nardone in second (49.40), Sarah Frye in third (54.63) and Katherine Kieley in fifth (55.86).

The Battle of the Bridge will resume on Jan. 29 with Co-Ed Unified plus boys and girls sub-varsity basketball.

BISHOP GUERTIN DOES WELL IN MEET

The Cards added a new state meet qualifier as a result of the four-team meet they hosted this past weekend. Elise Kenny got the needed time on the exact hundreth of a second in the 50 free.

Other swimmers who enhanced their qualifying times were Dominic Cavanese in the 200 free, Kye Dos Santos in the 100 fly, Addie Wison in the 100 free, and Vivian Carlton in the 500 Free.

Wison aso won the 200 IM, missing a qualifying time by less than a second. Vivian Carton won the 500 and 50 free, while diver Nicolette Carlton had a dive best of 181.35.
