HS Wrestling Roundup: Alvirne tops Merrimack; Souhegan wins

Wrestling was the main sport on Wednesday’s high school menu so let’s take a look at what we have for the main course options, read down to see your favorite school:
ALVIRNE 50, MERRIMACK 30
The Broncos got wins by Noah Gendreau at 165 (pin), Joe Lydon at 175 (17-0 technical fall), Quintin Tetreault at 190 (8-0 major decision), Mason Verrocchio at 120 (tech fall 17-1), Dominic Deoliveira at 126 (pin), Tim Malley at 132 (pin), and Joshua Brouillette at 150 (pin).
Merrimack got wins by Avery Lanteigne at 215 (pin), Coopr Seltsam-Wilps at 285 (pin), Owen Sayball at 138 (pin), plus pins by Cash Torres at 157 and Landon Shultz at 144.
SOUHEGAN 52, KINGSWOOD 27
The Sabers got seven wins. There were pins by Jack Kaler (132), Landon Carson (138), Alex Sarfde (150), Marcus Stout (157), Cole Mobley (175) and Gabe Holt (215) plus a decision by Nathan Stout at 120.
MILFORD 54, BISHOP GUERTIN 23
Besides several forfeits as BG’s numbers are down this year, Milford got wins by Francisco Juvera at 132 (pin) and Phillip Wright at 157 (pin).
BG wins were by James Algeo at 138 (pin), Ayla Saeturn at 165 (4-0 decision), Jack Foster at 175 (7-2 decision), and Bishop Kearns at 285 (19-4 technical fall).
SPAULDING 64, NASHUA NORTH 12
The Titans got two pins, Sebastian Ochoa at 126 and Caleb Smith at 138.
CONCORD 54, HOLLIS BROOKLINE 22
The Cavs entered Division I territory and got wins from Victor Lomme at 120 (pin), Scout Crea at 126 (major decision 12-4), Hunter Knight at 165 (3-0 decision), Gabe McGrath at 190 (12-5 decision) and Jake Critchfield at 165 (pin).
CAMPBELL 42, CONVAL 41
It was a nailbiter for the Cougars, who took advantage of four forfeits plus pins by Samuel Baker at 126, James MacLean at 132, and Sage Anctil at 157.
