HS Roundup: BG, MHBDS, Alvirne-Milford skaters all win

While there was basketball at Nashua South, a Wednesday night in January usually means hockey and wrestling, and the area had some good success last night.
Here’s the rundown on the ice and the mat:
BOYS HOCKEY
BISHOP GUERTIN 6, SALEM 3
The Cards (3-1 DivisionI, 6-1 overall) got back on the winning track at the Salem Icenter as Jack Stone had a pair of goals, Anthony Deboutchi a goal and two assists, and Gavin Santos and Jordan O’Hearn each with a goal and an assist. Cam Vaillancourt also had a goal. Dom Trepanier added an assist.
Nico Scaparutti had 31 saves in goal for the Cards, who visit Hanover on Saturday.
WINDHAM 5, NASHUA NORTH-SOUTH 2
The Knights fell to 0-5 after giving up three third period goals to the Jags, who snapped a 2-2 tie. Brendon Doughty and Brendan Skelley each had a goal for Nashua, both assisted by Conor Prunier.
Nashua is at Pinkerton on Monday night.
MHBDS 4, LEBANON-STEVENS-MASCOMA 1
Alex May had a pair of goals and an assist while Will Farrell and Conor Miner also scored as Merrimack-Hollis Brookline-Derryfield improved to 2-3-1.
The hosts also got assists by Josh Kahn, Luc Chretien and Colin Hamlin while Liam Gagne had 16 saves in goal.
The WarHawks are at Winnacunnet on Saturday night.
ALVIRNE-MILFORD 5, GOFFSTOWN 2
The Admirals are now 3-2 after their win at Skate 3 as they pulled away from a 2-2 tie after one period with second period goals by Chris Bozza and Brandon Callahan, who also had a goal in the first period plus an assist on Jameson Thurott’s empty netter with 4.5 seconds left in the game. Luke Green also had an assist. Other assists on the night went to Brandon Ganas, Brandon Hiltz, Dylan MacLeod and Evan Pargas.
The Admirals are at Timberlane-Pelham Saturday night at the Salem Icenter.
WRESTLING
KEENE 49, NASHUA NORTH 24
North got pins from Sebastian Ochoa at 126 and Caleb Paquin at 132, plus a pair of forfeits.
HOLLIS BROOKLINE 38, MERRIMACK 35
In a tight match in which forfeits played a role, the Cavs got wins by Harrison Holmes at 215 (pin), Victor Lomme at 120 (pin), Scout Crea at 132 (technical fall 15-0), Hunter Knight at 138 (9-2 decision), Nathan Fauteux at 150 (pin) and Jacob Critchfield at 165 (pin).
Merrimack’s wins were by Landon Schultz at 144 (pin), Cash Torres at 157 (technical fall 17-1), Nicolin Stevens at 175 (pin) and Carter Anderson at 190 (pin).
SOUHEGAN 42, PORTSMOUTH 40
Winners for the Sabers in this tight match all by pin were Kyle Sukcharoenphon at 106, Owen Kostecki at 126, Jack Kaler at 132, Marcus Stout at 157, Micah Dibble at 190, and Gabriel Holt at 285.
KEARSARGE 42, CAMPBELL 36
BOW 54, CAMPBELL 24
Campbell winners in the tri match were Sam Baker by pin, James Maclean, Tim Turecki and Jackson Lucas (two pins).
