It was a very limited high school schedule on Tuesday night as some might have expected, but it brough good news or the Milford wrestling team but not-so-good for Bishop Guertin girls basketball:

WRESTLING

MILFORD 36, HOLLIS BROKLINE 30

The Milford High School wrestling team won a close dual meet battle with local rival Hollis Brookline on a wintry Tuesday night.

The Spartans got two forfeit wins at 113 and heavyweight, which were big points. But they took care of things on the mat as well, with pins by Matt Hammerstrom at 126, Kane Davis at 132, Tanner Herbert at 144 and Eli Wales at 190.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

WACHUSETT 65, BISHOP GUERTIN 49

The Cards are still seeking that first win after falling to 0-4, despite Olivia Baker’s 19 points plus 12 by Thalia Drapeau. Guertin was down 15-9 after the first quarter and 31-21 at the half.

The Cards are in action next this weekend at the Londonderry Christmas Tournament.
