By Tom King - Staff Writer | Oct 28, 2025

The Nashua North girls celebrate their 2024 Division I quarterfinal OT upset win over Bishop Guertin. The two teams could possibly have a rematch later this week if they both win separate prelims today at Stellos Stadium. (Telegraph file photo by TOM KING)

Note: Earlier versions of this story had Bishop Guertin playing boys soccer Wednesday at 6 p.m. Game time is actually 4 p.m. vs. Pinkerton

Get ready for High School Fall Tourney Palooza, beginning today.

Field hockey has been underway for a week, but now boys and girls soccer as well as girls volleyball joins the party, and what a party it promises to be.

Tuesday starts the Division I girls soccer and volleyball tournaments plus Division II boys soccer, and the highlight today will be an all-local girls soccer prelim between No. 3 Bishop Guertin and No. 14 Nashua South at Stellos Stadium at 6 p.m.. Wednesday it will be Division I boys soccer along with Division II volleyball, and things just progress thereafter.

For No. 1 local seeds, Nashua South (14-1-1) is tops in Division I boys soccer, has a first-round bye and will play an 11 a.m.quarterfinal at Stellos Stadium on Saturday. The Hollis Brookline girls(15-0-1) are No. 1 in Division II girls soccer and will be home Saturday for a quarterfinal. The NHIAA scheduled time is 3 p.m. but that can be changed, so stay tuned and as always, for all tourney times check school and the NHIAA websites.

Here’s the week ahead:

TUESDAY

Girls Soccer – A Stellos Stadium doubleheader! The day starts at 3 p.m. with No. 6 Nashua North (12-4-0) hosting No. 11 Windham (5-7-4 ) at Stellos. The Titans won the regular season battle 2-0 back on Sept. 4.

Then at 6 BG (13-1-2) faces South (2-6-6) at 6. The Cards won the regular season game two weeks ago, 2-0.

The winners play Friday at Stellos, time tba. If North and BG win, they will have a rematch of last year’s fantastic quarterfinal. Or, we could get North vs. South, who played a fantastic prelim last year.

In Division III, No. 3 Campbell (14-1) hosts No. 14 White Mountains (6-8-2), likely at 3 p.m. The Cougars won 2-0 in an Oct. 6 home regular season game.

Boys Soccer – No. 6 Hollis Brookline (8-5-3) hosts No. 11 Plymouth (6-7-3) at 3 p.m. The Cavs lost to the Bobcats in Plymouth 1-0 back on Sept. 23. The winner goes to No. 3 Pembroke on Friday in the quarters.

The only other Division II entry, No. 2 Campbell (13-2-1) has a first round bye and will host a quarterfinal Friday.

In Division IV boys, No. 8 Wilton-Lyndeborough (10-5-1) hosts No. 9 Concord Christian (10-6-0), likely at 3 p.m. CC beat the Warriors 4-2 two weeks ago.

Girls Volleyball – It’s a big day locally. At 4 p.m., No. 3 Bishop Guertin (15-3) will host No. 14 Goffstown (5-13), while in an all local battle, No. 5 Nashua North (14-4) hosts No. 12 Alvirne (8-10) at 6 p.m. The Titans just beat Alvirne 3-0 last week, while BG won at Goffstown two weeks ago, 3-1.

WEDNESDAY

Boys Soccer – No. 3 Bishop Guertin (12-2-2) will host No. 14 Pinkerton (4-9-3) at 4 p.m. at Stellos. Meanwhile No. 13 Nashua North (4-9-3) is at No. 4 Windham (11-2-3) at 3 p.m. No. 5 Merrimack (10-2-4) will host No. 12 Salem (6-7-3) likely at 3 p.m.

The Cards beat the Astros 2-0 back on Sept. 30; Merrimack tied Salem 3-3 in the season opener waaaay back on Aug. 29, and North lost to Windham 3-2 on Sept.4. If North and Merrmack both win, they face each other in Saturday’s quarters. BG would host either Hanover or Keene.

Girls Soccer – Souhegan (5-7-4) grabbed the 11th and final spot in the Division II tourney and its prelim will be at No. 6 Coe-Brown (5-7-4), whom the Sabers beat 1-0 back on Sept. 2.

THURSDAY

Field hockey – It’s the Division II field hockey semifinals at Exeter’s Bill Ball Stadium with No. 1 Souhegan (15-1-1) facing the only team it lost to, No. 4 Oyster River (13-2-1) at 7 p.m.

Girls Volleyball – The Division I quarterfinals will be held, with BG likely at home, while the North-Alvirne winner, if No.4 Salem wins its prelim, would play at the Blue Devils.

Meanwhile, it’s the start of the Division II tourney, with an all local battle: No. 4 Milford (14-2) hosting No. 13 Campbell (8-9) at 6 p.m. Also, No. 8 Souhegan (11-6) will host No. 9 Gilford (10-6) at 6 p.m. Milford beat Campbell 3-0 late last month while Gilford and Souhegan did not meet.

FRIDAY

Girls Soccer — The Divsion I quarterfinals. Could we get a North vs. BG quarterfinal? North vs. South? It’s likely at least one of the three will be playing. And, if Campbell advances in Division III, the Cougars would be home again vs. the winner of No. 6 Gilford vs. No. 11 Bishop Brady.

Boys Soccer – The Division II and IV quarterfinals. Campbell is the only definite, getting a first round bye and will host either No. 7 Coe-Brown or No. 10 John Stark on Friday, likely 3 p.m.

HB and WLC could be playing, likely on the road.

SATURDAY

Boys Soccer – The Division I quarterfinals will be held, and Nashua South playing at 11 a.m.is a definite. BG would host as well at Stellos if it wins its prelim, Merrimack and North hope to be playing – and it could be against each other.

Girls Soccer – Time for the unbeaten No.1 Hollis Brookline Cavaliers (15-0-1) to join the Division II party after a first-round bye; the Cavs will host a quarterfinal (3 p.m. or tba) vs. either No. 8 Lebanon (6-4-6) or No. 9 Pelham (6-7-3). Lebanon provided HB’s only blemish, a 0-0 tie; HB beat Pelham 5-0 two weeks ago.

But the Cavs aren’t the only Division II team with home field. The No. 4 Milford Spartans (9-4-3) are reaping the benefits of a successful season and after a first-round bye will face No. 5 John Stark (7-2-7). The two teams — as one might expect with Stark’s record — played to a 2-2 tie a month ago. But of course no more ties now that it’s the postseason. Also, Souhegan with a prelim win would be at No. 3 Bow (10-3-3), who beat the Sabers 7-0 just this past Friday.

Field Hockey – Souhegan hopes to be in the Division II finals at Bedford’s Bulldog Stadium vs. either John Stark or Bow. Game time is 5 p.m.

Girls Volleyball – Division II will have its quarterfinals; Milford would be home if it won its prelim; Souhegan or Campbell would likely be on the road if still alive.

Cross Country – It’s the Meet of Champions, in which a clear state champion in boys and girls both individually and team wise would be named. It’s at Alvirne at 2:30 p.m.
