HS Field Hockey: Sabers reach semis; Cavs fall in OT, 1-0
There is one area high school field hockey team playing.
The Souhegan Sabers have a date Thursday at 7 p.m. with the only team that beat them this season, Oyster River, in the Division II semifinals at Exeter’s Bill Ball Stadium.
Souhegan, the top seed, dispatched of No.9 Kingswood in the quarterfinals Sunday in Amherst. Unfortunately yesterday, the area went one out of two as defending champion No. 5 Hollis Brookline fell to No. 4 Oyster River in overtime.

DIVISION II QUARTERINALS
NO. 1 SOUHEGAN 4, NO. 9 KINGSWOOD 0
The Sabers (15-1-1) got two goals from Ella Duclos and single scores by Ella Normandin and Avery Wyborney. Ori Dart added two assists while Bella Preston had an assist. Olivia Harrison got the shutout with two saves in net.
NO. 4 OYSTER RIVER 1, NO. 5 HOLLIS BROOKLINE 0 (OT)
Bobcats midielder Eliza Farwell scored the game winning goal six minutes into the sudden death overtime period, a cruel ending to the season for the defending champion Cavs (12-4-1) in Durham.
The Bobcats(14-2-1) beat Souhegan 4-3 earlier this season.
“This was a very solid team win from start to finish,” OR coach Anne Golding said,saying the Bobcats adjusted during the game. “They just kept playing…It gives them a solid look moving forward.”
The other semi Thursday at Exter pits No. 2 Bow (14-1-2) vs. No.3 John Stark (14-1-2) at 5 p.m.
