HS Football Roundup: Broncos win thriller; HB, Milford fall

The Broncos played another tight contest on Friday night, winning on a late TD over Dover.
“It was nice to get a win but we have a lot we ned to clean up moving forward,” Broncos coach Justin Hufft said. “Really happy for the seniors to get a win on Senior Night.”
Hollis Brookline and Milford, however, couldn’t share in the joy. Here’s a look:
ALVIRNE 28, DOVER 21
Mike Landmesser scored the game-winning TD with 16 seconds left as the Broncos improved to 3-5.
Ethan Dudley had 100-plus yards rushing and threw for one touchdown and ran for another. Dover fell to 1-7.
The Broncos will wrap up the regular season next Friday at Merrimack. They could, depending on other factors, have a playoff shot with a win.
DIVISION II
CONVAL 21, MILFORD 19
The Spartans were playing from behind throughout and fell just short in Peterborough, dropping to 2-6.
Gavyn Tessier had 125 yards rushing with a TD and had seven catches for 61 yards to lead the Spartans. Joey Schnitzler had five tackles for loss while Marcus Kern had a good two-way game, eight tackles on defense and 48 yards and a TD receiving. Jace Wilhemi had a TD but was hurt early in the game.
The Spartans went down and scored after getting a three-and-out following a turnover on the game’s first play. But they were climbing uphill after that.
Milford wraps up the season next Friday at home vs. Pelham.
HANOVER 28, HOLLIS BROOKLINE 7
The Cavaliers (2-6) couldn’t get untracked in their quest for a third win.
Steve Nieble had a 3-yard TD run while Jamie Duncan added the PAT.
HB wraps up the season next Friday at Souhegan.
