HS Roundup: Broncos end victory drought; Panthers fall

By Marc Breton - Telegraph Sports Correspondent | Oct 17, 2025

It’s been a week of ending streaks in a good way as the have-nots are starting to become the haves in local high school sports.

A day after the Nashua North field hockey team ended an eight-year win drought, the Alvirne girls soccer team captured its first win in about two years on Thursday. It’s the first win for Broncos coach Kevin Brassard, who took over the program last year after guiding Campbell to the 2020 Division III title game.

Here’s a look at an otherwise light Thursday:

GIRLS SOCCER

ALVIRNE 2, SPAULDING 0

The Broncos (1-10-2) secure their first win of the season with a shutout. Lia Moreau scored a goal on an assist from Reese Wanamaker, while Leah Brown found the net with an assist from Anna Murphy. Abbie Kowalski made five saves. Alvirne hosts Pinkerton on Saturday.

PINKERTON 2, NASHUA SOUTH 0

The Panthers (1-8-5) fall on the road to the Astros. Ayvah Christman and Caroline Bedell played well for the locals. South visits Londonderry on Tuesday.

Racking up the box scores were Harper Anderson (13 kills, eight digs, three aces), Savannah Watson (13 kills, 15 digs, two aces), Kassie Cupin (20 assists, 19 digs, two aces), Abby Walters (eight assists, 15 digs, four aces) and Paige Davis (24 digs, four assists, two aces).
